I started reading Greek myths as a child, moved on to fantasy & sci-fi in my teens and have continued reading the genre ever since. I read The Sword of Shannara in one sitting. These days I am especially fond of Terry Pratchett's insightful work and Charles De Lint's ability to marry the real and the fantastic. 
I am also a fan of fantasy and sci-fi movies and games. I have become addicted to Final Fantasy x and am determined to make it through the whole game. 
 Basically I have come to the conclusion that humanity has always created its own worlds and peopled them with creations that satisfy our need for adventure, challenge, mystery and that the hope that there is more to life than our mundane existence and that given the opportunity we individually can be much more than we seem.
