ha! I have the beginnings of a guitar!
...and yes I do have a LONG tongue ... its curling under at the end as well...
still its not as long as Aodh's (he can lick his eye brow... or wrap it around something to suck!)
...and I cant lick up wards...
I use to be able to touch my nose aswell as my chin... but cant anymore.

serious set back in plans
we were going to place some marble like grained veneer
on the surface of the guitar
this would be stained to make the fire/sunburst gold to red to black
unfortunately due to our inexperience
we had no idea how to get the veneer to be tight and flat
to the curved and shaped surface!
to make matters worse
we had to match two pieces together to cover the whole surface

it was a mess with glue everywhere buckling and warped veneer
even the clamps were too small to hold the bracing wood down

Im very disappointed as I had such high hopes for the veneer!

eventually gonna spray paint the red and gold/copper

had an accident involving a can of red spray paint
it was defective and exploded over the guitar!
I tried to work with it and make it good
but it was totally screwed up
so after it dried I had to sand it down again
and start again

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! what a trip!
I lied... I worked on it more!
and the new can of red paint
...that was a replacement for the 2nd can that exploded...
the 3rd can of red spray paint didnt explode like the first two
well Bill bought acrylic enamel in the same shade of red instead of just enamel...
in case the whole shipment of emamel in that colour were defective
but b/c its red acrylic enamel instead of just enamel
it didnt mix with the blk enamel or the gold metalic
and the 3 paints reacted LIKE RESISTS!!!
.. and the whole thing bubbled up!!!
and I thought DAMN! IVE WRECKED IT AGAIN!!!
so I dab/wiped it down with 'supposively' lint free rag
and placed newsprint on it to get off the bulk of bubbling paint...
...and the result was...

AWESOME!!!
so I have the weirdest guitar now
definitely an original!
Méadhbh Aoibh is original!
she does look like she been thru years
of adventures concerts and hard lovin playin!

been working on Aodh's guitar all week
we have had one thing go wrong after another
I swear this guitar doesnt want to be anything like what I wanted
but wanted to do its own thing
at the cost of $20 of veneer wreaked and a bottle of glue
and tonnes of sandpaper...
and 7 cans of spray paint...
and the health of my lungs!!!

I wanted to have her finished for Halloween
but after a few mishaps... and set backs...
decided I needed to take my time and do it right
rather than rush her and get her done on time...
so Ill be cosplaying as Aodh another day

Aodh's guitar is lookin sweeeeeet!
I just spray painted her a beautiful gold copper black and two reds
now I cant touch her for a month! a whole month!
b/c I dont dare wreak her paint by doing any more work on her till she is 100% dry!
Ive painted her about a dozen times
but always get carried away and F her up by rushin
oooooh also spray painted my arm and hand! opps,
oh well it matches my hair!

and its all down the stairs
and tracked all over the floor
by little paw prints!
bad me!
the overspray isnt bad...
its the paint dust that settles down after
Im done spraying that lands on the floor and doesnt stick! till someone walks thru it...

made from wood: sawed shaped and sanded from one solid piece of pine board, ton of different spray paints, plexi glass fret board, gold marker frets, balsam craft board pick ups/gear, 3 different metal beading wire strings, real gibson tuning pegs, tuners and guitar strap.
with lottas help from hubby [geirrekr]
