Aboard The Argo

Quarters B

More utilitarian than Quarters A, these contain the main bunks available for ranking flight crew. As with Quarters A, the bunks can hold a couple and shutters can be lowered to seal the bunks for privacy and safety. The bunks all have keycode locked storage units beneath them for personal belongings. Due to the roles that these crew members have, the bunks also contain computer access so that crew can observe the ship's status from their own personal space. The floor is empty of obstructions to allow for quick access between the cockpit and the rest of the ship.

The sounds of Wagner's Flight of the Valkyries faded in to Alec's closed bunk. He groaned and slapped at the solid wall side of the enclosed bed, shutting off the music. He decided that it was finally time to change his wake-up alarm to something different - the likelihood was that he would yet again forget about it. He pressed the button to raise the shutters, and there was the usual hiss that announced the bunk meeting the same pressure as the quarters. He slid his legs off the bed and sat there, rubbing his face to help work the muscles into life. He zipped up his jumpsuit so his chest was covered after having it bared during sleep. Opening the drawer beneath his bunk, pressing the buttons from physical memory, he withdrew a tablet, chewed it, and swallowed - his mouth and teeth washed, he stood and stretched. A few bunks were open, but Alec saw that most were still closed at this hour. He went down to the floor and started doing pres-ups next to his bunk.

Not long after Alec himself had gotten up and started his daily routine, a soft little tone began going off in Zhora's bunk as well. Though not as loud as most would have alarms set for, it suited her well. She was a light sleeper and it didn't take much to get her up and alert. As she threw off what blanket remained on top of her, she sat up slightly and turned to her side so that she could reach the buttons in her bunk, Zhora's shutters started to raise and she blinked slightly at the sudden light. Seeing Alec wide awake in the room, she offered the male a smile before turning back to the panel inside her bunk. "Good morning, Alec." Swiping her hand over what appeared to be a screen, the monitor flashed to life with a multitude of stats pertaining to the health of the ship. As of now everything was still flashing a vibrant green, meaning everything was good to go. "Everything seems to be running well so far. We've been lucky not to have had many errors."

"Morning," Alec said between grunts of exertion. Before he built up too much of a sweat, he finished off his exercise regime. He headed over to Zhora's bunk and leant over so he could take a look at the display of the ship's status. "Aye, the big lass has been fairly kind to us in that respect." He straightened up and twisted to stretch the muscles in his back. "When you due on shift?"

As Alec approached her bunk to take a look at the display himself, Zhora flipped through a few more screens that zoomed in on various areas before pressing a button on the bottom to return the screen to its prior blank state. She turned back towards the edge of the bed and slid her legs off before standing up, feeling even more petite than usual from her's and Alec's size difference. Zhora gave her lithe body a long overdue stretch before bending down to her own drawer to retrieve her morning tablets and popping them in her mouth. "They don't have me going in until later this afternoon. Not that I'll necessarily listen to that. You know how I am with my babies." She smiled at the male again before nudging him with her elbow. "Speaking of, I'm glad to see that you're still keeping in shape."

Kyarion woke up five minutes before his alarm as he usually did and turned it off. He lay around for a while and stretched in his bed before eating one mouthwash pill and watering the little batch of wood sorrel he had in a small container attached to the inside of his bunk. He also checked the situation in the engine room via the computer, but after that he opened the covers around his bunk and rolled out. He stood up and looked around the room to see the others. "Good morning," he said to everyone. As per usual, he just stood around for some time and gathered his thoughts while running his hand through his by now rather overgrown hair. He usually kept his hair short, but he never remembered to get it cut unless someone mentioned it to him. "Was something happening during night?" he asked from Zhora and Alec.

Alec couldn't help but grin at Zhora's comment - flirting on board was a vice that was blessedly kept unchecked. While he tried to come up with a response, Kyarion approached them. "Nay, not from what we can see, but I'm about to mosey over to my post and take my usual morning glimpse of the cold unknown."

As Kyarion approached them, Zhora looked over to the male and nodded in agreeance with Alec's response. If something had happened, it sure wasn't showing on the system's monitors and they typically tended to reflect everything rather accurately. "And I won't be too far behind him. Though I do believe my tummy's tellin' me it would love some breakfast." Zhora patted her stomach to reiterate the point she was making, "If anyone's wantin' to join in?"

"Business before pleasure," Alec responded, raising a hand in apology. "I'm off now. Catch up with you all later." With that, he headed away to the door that led into the Argo: Cockpit.

A short time later, the ship's internal intercoms boomed out Alec's voice: "This is Pilot Alec Polansk. All crew members, please report to the mess hall. Repeat, all crew members report to the mess hall."

Crew members who had been in the process of getting up now quickly made their way towards the mess room.

"Good, good," said Kyarion to Zhora and Alec. He gave Alec a small wave when the other left. "I can be joining in!" he commented to Zhora. "We can catch up. Anything interesting happened yesterday?" he asked as he prepared to move out. He got his visor and put it on his head, though not over the eyes yet. When he heard Alec's announcement, he looked contemplative. "Better see what this is, come on." He smiled at Zhora and went with the others to the Argo: Entertainment & Mess Room.

As Kyarion went about doing his own morning routine, Zhora patiently waited for him so that they could head out together. "Not much. Unfortunately it's startin' to blur whether that's a blessin' or a curse. Sometimes I wish somethin' would happen." She gave a light chuckle at that idea. While it would have been nice for a change of pace, it was actually still good that nothing drastic had popped up yet. As Alec's voice chimed in over the intercom, she looked over to Kyarion in time to return his smile. "Good thing we were already on our way there." As he left, she wasn't far behind him as they entered Argo: Entertainment & Mess Room.

Alec came back from the cockpit and went straight through the quarters, heading for Argo: Entertainment & Mess Room.

Quite a while later, Alec returned and went to his bunk. He lay down inside and closed the shutter, making it soundproof. He pressed the tag on his collar. "To Zhora Locklear, Kyarion Kavarinen: This is Alec. Let me know of anything odd that goes on. We're having too many surprises for any normal day."

Just as Alec meant to leave his bunk, a warning light appeared on the console at the side. He tapped where the light was flashing and information appeared on the bunk wall. He nodded with a grimace before shutting it down. "To all crew members: The unknown vessel we were heading for is within camera range. Please report to the cockpit if you wish to see it. Alec out." He released the button on his collar, pressed the one to open his bunk and strode to Argo: Cockpit.

Toya passed through to the Argo: Cockpit without a glance at her surroundings.

Kyarion arrived in an elevator and said a quiet hello to any present crew members on his way to Argo: Cockpit.

As various members of the crew filed into the cockpit, Marcus climbed down from the upper quarters and then made his way as well to Argo: Cockpit.

Pace gave a friendly smile and wave to everyone he passed as he entered Argo: Cockpit.

Continuing quickly through the quarters that her bunk resided in, Zhora found herself shuffling in behind everyone else into the Argo: Cockpit.

The elevator doors opened and Priyaan stepped out. Noticing a few people hovering at the doorway to the cockpit, she gestured for Nytera to follow her there. "Come on, I don't want to miss anything!" She squeezed in between two reed-thin scientists and made her way into Argo: Cockpit.

Nytera wiggled her way through the scientists and followed Priyaan into the Argo: Cockpit.

Kyarion made his way to the elevator and took one to Argo: Garage.

"This is crazy," Priyaan murmured, but she was still grinning as she came out of the cockpit. She headed for the ladder down to the meat lab and waited for Nytera join her.

"I know! We need to find a way to go with them!!" Nytera answered as she emerged behind her. She swiftly climbed past her friend, back into the Argo: Meat Lab.

Priyaan couldn't help but continue her grin as she followed Nytera down the ladder to Argo: Meat Lab.

Too late to see where Priyaan and Nytera had gone, Marcus headed for the elevator. Pressing the button to send him down to Argo: Docking Bay, he hoped he'd find his niece before she did something stupid.

Priyaan climbed up from the meat lab. After looking to see if Marcus was looking for her, and not spotting him, she headed back into the Argo: Cockpit.

Pace was careful to not jostle his containers of scientific supplies while walking towards Argo: Docking Bay, barely remembering to maintain a slower gait and not leave Zhora behind.

Eager to get to the docking bay and onto the strange ship, Zhora was practically on Pace's heels as she followed the male straight through the bunks and to the Argo: Docking Bay.
