About the artist and why this picture was chosen for the daily picture:

Started as something to decorate the side of a letter but developed much further beyond that out of adoration, this aptly titled piece from [galaxie] looks plucked right out of a story book. In fact, the inspiration came from one! Infused with the spirit of Mabel Lucie Attwell (who did illustrations for Peter Pan) and a beautiful afternoon, we have the pleasure of peeking into the journey of two characters through a fantasy land. Colourful and soft, it's a picture that just brings a spark of childhood up inside, of days when you'd just sit with your back against tree, cast your eyes to the clouds, and daydream.
