Yami, my best friend, is unlike any girl I’ve ever known. How? Well, if I handed you a coloring page of a picture of her, I would only need to give you three crayons; green, blue and black. Green for her left eye, blue for her right. Yeah Yami is that strange, her eyes are two different colors, brilliant but always sad. The black crayon? Her hair, her eyeliner, her mascara, her thick lips, her dresses, her shirts, her pants, her skirts, her stockings, and her favorite boots. Yami’s life, since she was born was rough, you see; her mother had twins, Yami and Yama. One girl one boy, they looked as though they’d stolen an eye off each other, for Yama’s eyes were just the opposite of Yami’s. Sadly, at the age of 3 days, Yama was kidnapped from the hospital. After a long year of searching they presumed him dead. Yami? Her parents never told her. How do I know? I heard them talking when we were little, I couldn’t tell her the truth, I didn’t want her to hope he was alive, so she grew up thinking he died due to complications. At the age of 15, Yami’s parents died in a fire while she was at school, and she was forced to live with her aunt. After the funeral, Yami stuck with the all black look and never seemed happy. I love that girl, with all my being. Why aren’t we dating? She would never agree to it, she believes that everyone she loves dies. So I have no chance. My story? My name is Yuki and I’m fairly normal, except my surgeries. Once every six months I have to have a procedure done on my right eye. There is something wrong with it, the doctors don’t know what it is, but they know how to fix it. Odd right? I know. I never tell Yami about the surgeries, I’m afraid she’ll panic, so when I have the surgeries I tell her that I have to go visit my grandma. My parents worry about me, though they’re not really my parents, I’m adopted. It didn’t surprise me though, I look nothing like them, they have dark brown hair and brown eyes. What do I look like? I’m a ginger, red haired and blue eyed, yup. Yami loves my long red hair, the always brushes it and braids it for me before school.  I really love her. You know, I think when I go to school today I’m going to try to ask her to be mine. I’m not taking no for an answer.
