Phoenix Palace Kitchen

Sage slowly started to open the small hidden door to the kitchen, peering around to see if anyone was about.

Corus, on his way to the Inn stopped by the kitchen to grab a bit to eat. He hated prying on Maddy's kindness to feed him. She needed her food for paying costumers. However, Corus swore he felt another person in the kitchen. "You can come out of your hding spot."

Sage moved to close the small door. He didn't want to get the princess in trouble.

"Oh well." Corus said as he felt the man leave. Corus grabbed an apple and left the room.

Sage slowly opened the door, and quickly moved to get some cheese and bread. He then gathered some fruit, and made his way back to the small door back to his chamber.

Sage walked into the kitchen planing on grabbing some food and then heading to his chamber.

Kari entered the kitchen at that moment, and walked up to Sage. "Excuse me, sir," he said easily. "I was wondering if you knew whether there was any way that I could possible speak to the princess? I couldn't help hearing you talking to those two men earlier, and wanted to ask you." Kari had decided to be blunt, and just put is intentions right outside in the open.

Just outside the door to the kitchen, a figure hovered by a crack in the doorway, and listened in on the conversation.

Sage looked at Kari. "Lady Lyenisa? Why do you wish to speak with the lady?"

Kari said a little bluntly, "Personal interest, I suppose." He continued. "I'm Kari Hermosa, a prince of the Kingdom of Roc, though that hardly matters at the moment. It's a pleasure to meet you, sir."

Sage just stared at him. "Sage...and I call no kingdom my home...." he said softly. "Lady Lyenisa is my friend...I care about her well being...."

"You say that as if you expect me to harm her, or something of the like. Tell, Sir Sage, if I really wanted to harm the Lady, wouldn't I already know the way to her chambers? In which case, there would be no reason to come and ask you for any kind of help in the matter." Kari raised an eyebrow, daring Sage to come up with a justifiable reason to not let Kari see her. "And in any event, I merely wish to talk. Is there anything wrong with that?"

Outside, the figure clenched its fists tightly, as if in anger.

"No, Sir..." Sage said softly with a polite bow. "I am just watching out for her well being... she is my friend...."

"Hmm... I may know next to nothing about her, but if I were in her position, I'd be very grateful to have a good friend like you," Kari said honestly. There was a slight twinge of jealousy in his tone. "But still, might I talk to her?" He bowed humbly, practically at the point of begging. A thought about how disgraceful it was to have a prince act like this to a minor flitted across his mind, but he pushed it away, and ignored it.

And outside, the figure stiffened. She could hardly believe her ears.

"You should not bow to me, sir...it is not right...I...am sure that You may...but she hadn't looked very well when she had left the ball...." Sage said bowing again.

Kari slowly straightened. He looked concerned. "Is she alright?"

"A great disease has past through the kingdom...claiming many...Lady Lyenisa has been affected by it...." Sage said softly.

"So I've heard. But still, might I see her?" Kari was about to bow again, but refrained from doing so.

Lady Violet stood outside the kitchen doorway, and she was silently fuming. How dare that princess steal her man's heart like this! I shouldn't have told him anything about her, Violet thought furiously. I'm going to make sure that woman pays for this!

She kept listening, so that if the whereabouts of the princess's chambers were mentioned, she might be able to get to them before the other two men.

Sage looked towards the door, not saying a word.

Kari glanced in that direction as well. He then thought to Sage, It's Lady Violet - she must of somehow managed to wake up, and get herself here. Should I do something about her, or should we let her be? If we don't say the whereabouts of Lady Lyenisa's chambers out loud, I think we might have a chance at getting away from her. You could show me the way there, or just tell me through telepathy, like I'm doing right now. Either way is fine. He raised his eyebrow inquiringly at Sage, as if to say, So what now, Commander?

Sage looked at Kari. I have a better way... "Lord Kari, the Lady Lyenisa's chambers are at the other end of the palace...."

Kari instantly understood what he intended to do. "Is that so? Where exactly at the other end of this palace is she at?" Great thinking, he thought to him. He tried to hide a small grin that was trying to make its way onto his face. He was a sucker for practical jokes - his sense of humor made it impossible not to enjoy them.

Sage started to discribe the exact location.

Before he had actually finished, Violet was creeping quietly away towards the location. She figured I don't need to know the EXACT location to be able to find it - if necessary, I'll just try every door I come by. She just hoped she didn't run into Kari while she was searching.

Ah, Kari - how Violet adored him! It was only for him that she would go as far as this. Only for him.

Kari listened to the woman's footsteps fade away, and this time was unable to hide the grin that spread across his face. He quickly recomposed himself, however, and turned back to Sage.

"That was some really quick thinking," he said in honest admiration. "I doubt I could have come up with something like that on the spot in that kind of situation. That was quite a feat." He smiled.

"It's what I do..." Sage said softly. "Now what I am showing you, is not to be known...Lady Lyenisa showed it to me...and now I to you....so don't make my trust wrong...." Sage said softly, moving over to a table on the far end of the kitchen.

I won't tell a soul, Kari thought. Even under pain of death. He nodded, and followed Sage over to the table.

Sage knelt down infront of the table, and pushed at the wall, opening up at small doorway to a passage way. This way... Sage crawls under the table and into the passage. ((The passage firsts goes to another chamber Sage's Chambers))

Kari obediently followed.

2010-01-03 [Gypsy Mystik]: oh my.... Corus...

2010-02-19 [Yume Youki]: Anybody up for a love triangle? I'm planning on making one happen here, and as long as Sage does what Kari wants, and takes him to the princess, then everything just might go perfectly...

*grins evilly* I'm having fun over here...

2010-02-19 [Gypsy Mystik]: love triangle?? oh my...

2010-02-19 [Gypsy Mystik]: ^_^

2010-02-19 [Yume Youki]: Apparently all those rumors about Kari being a prince were true...

hope nobody minds the sudden revelation... I just started typing and, well...

Again, hope nobody minds.

2010-02-19 [Yume Youki]: Geeze, now I'm starting to fall for Kari! Falling in love with my own character... is that even allowed?! 0o0

2010-02-19 [Gypsy Mystik]: lol yes...because you made him...

2010-02-19 [Yume Youki]: Maybe... or maybe I just love him for himself. He's a really great guy, you know...

Oh no, here I go again... I have a tendency to act and talk about my characters as if they're real, because, well... they ARE real, but only to me... I can see them so clearly... *gets a dreamy, far off look in her eyes*

2010-02-19 [Yume Youki]: Oh, of course, Lady Violet - it's all that horrible princess's fault that Kari had abandoned you in the middle of that passageway after tampering with your memories! It couldn't POSSIBLY be KARI'S fault, now could it?

And for all of you folks who are wondering, the only reason Kari wasn't able to shake that woman off permanently was because, in his hurry to see the princess, he had accidentally transferred some of his own memories in to Violet's head when he input a few new memories to patch things in her brain.

And the memories he accidentally transferred were the ones that said where he was going and why. Wonderful, ain't it?

2010-02-19 [Gypsy Mystik]: lol

2010-02-19 [Gypsy Mystik]: play along and you will see ^_^

2010-02-23 [Yume Youki]: I just love how the VDD is spreading so quickly - it's wonderful! >:)

2010-02-23 [Gypsy Mystik]: LOL

2010-02-23 [Yume Youki]: PS VDD = Violet Despiser Disease
