Ortega is really nothing more then a giant mine camp and dust ball. Its terrain is rocky, dirty, and grimy and the only reason anyone is here in the first place is due to the record number of precious minerals and metals that have been found here. From geologist and surveyor's estimates there is more precious minerals and metals on this planet alone then there are in most other colonized UNSC planets combined. The planet is split into four quadrants, for shipping purposes, and each quadrant has one facility that acts as a spaceport to send off mined goods and receive supplies. There is one mining facility ,Ortega - MF-417, that seems to have been placed on the largest vein and thus brings up the largest amount of goods versus all the other facilities. The other notable locations are Ortega - Quadrant-4 shiping and Ortega -The Road Between.
