NEONTOPIA HOSPITAL
Arlian looked towards the hospital as they drove closer to it, he held Eru closer to him and snuggled into the car seat.
Chipetsua caught the ight out of the corner of his eye and sighed gently. "Are you scared, Arlian? I'll be there with you, remember that. There is no reason to be scared."
"Will you come in with me?" He asked the other male quietly.
"Yes, of course." He pulled into the parking lot and parked the car, shutting the engine off. He looked over at Arlian and smiled softly. "Ready to go?"
"But what about Eru? He can't go in there" Arlian held the puppy close to his chest as he looked at Chipetsua.
"He's going in. He is your comic relief, takes your mind off of what you may or may not have. I am just your cuddly boyfriend. I can;t sit in your lap when you need something to pet or when you ned to craddle something to you." He tilted his head a bit. "Now can I?"
"YOu both stay in the car ok?" Arlian opened the door, putting Eru on the seat as he got out.
Chipetsua caught his wrist and held on gently, looking up at him. "Arlian... I want to come in.. We are coming in.. Please."
"Someone has to stay with Eru they dont allow dogs in hospitals"
Chipetsua's brows drew together in a slight scowl as he quickly released Arlian's arm as if it burned his hand. "Then I guess I'm not aloud in."
Arlian looked at him for a moment "Fine, be like that" He slammed the car door and made his way to the hospital entrance.
Chipetsua let out a groan as he gnawed at his bottom lip, a frown creasing his features heavily. He looked over at the dog and growl, his icy eyes staring right into the dog's. "Stupid ass dog. You need to just go find a different owner." He mumbled, turning slightly and readjusting himself on the seat so that he was staring out of the window with his hand propping his head up, his elbow on the door.
Arlian came back out of the hospial a good fortyfive minutes later, he looked over to where Chipetsua had parked
he waited he thought as he walked back over to the vehicle.
Chipetsua had calmed down by the time he got back, he had just kept staring at the door as he waited for his Arlian to be done. When he saw Arlian he started the car and shooed Eru into the back seat.
Arlian went round to the passengers side of the car and got in "I...didn't think you would wait"
"Arlian, of course I would wait. What kind of man would I be if I up and left on you..?" He looked at him, a slight sigh escaping his nose. "So, what's the news?"
Arlian looked out the window "Can you just drive us home please?"
"The cottage or muixen?" He asked in a defeated tone, pulling out of the parking spot and driving out of the parking lot.
Arlian shrugged "Wherever really"
Chipetsua nodded and started going towards the cottage, thinking it'd be a good place for privacy. "Was Kotani there?"
"Nope, why did you see him stalking me in?"
"Arlian, it was only a question." He mumbled as they drove along on the streets of
neontopia.
Arlian clung to Chipetsua as the entered the hospital, thinking that it was only that morning he found out about his leukemia, he was back there sooner than he hoped to have been.
Chipetsua hurried over to the front counter, whistling for the receptionist to look up. "Hey, I need a damned doctor lady. Don't look at me like that! I didn't do it!" He growled out, not liking the look he was giving him. When she paged a doctor she gestured for him down a hallway, pointing to a room. "Room five? Kay." He nodded his thanks and walked quickly down the hall, turning into the opened room and walking Arlian over to the bed. He laid him down gently and cleared some hair from his face before walking over to the sink and wetting a few paper towels. "Arlian, this is gonna be cold.." He warned, walking back over to him and wiping up the blood on his arm.
Arlian looked away for a moment whincing as his lover cleaned his arm up "Im so scared Chipetsua.."
"It's okay to be scared, Arlian." He reassured in a gentle voice, folding the paper towels up and pressing them against the wound with a bit of pressure. "It means you are only human... You should not have had to go through that, and I'm sorry I could not protect you... again."
Arlian looked at him, his eyes red from crying "What do you mean...again?"
"I couldn't protect you from Angelina and I couldn't protect you from this creep... I'm such a horrible person for letting this happen to you.." He reached one hand up and caressed Arlian's cheek softly, a small frown on his face.
"no" Arlian shook his head "I walked right into this...I took him into the changing room with me, I undressed for him"
"I shouldn't have let you gone by yourself." He pulled a chair up to the bed and sat down, keeping his hand and the towels on Arlian's arm firmly. He turned his head to look at the door when a doctor walked in with a clipboard in his hand.
"Ah, Arlian.. Back so s-" He cut himself off when he noticed the boy naked and bloody. "What happen to you? get into a little fight with your friend here?" He asked, shutting the door and walking over to him. He pulled the coat from his body to check for any other wounds and noticed the long gash on his leg. He shook his head and let out a sigh through his nose.
Arlian looked at the doctor "It had nothing to Chipetsua...he helped me....will I be ok, I mean...with this...and the leukemia?"
"Well, you're gonna have to stay in the hospital for a couple days to recalibrate your white blood cell count, but nothing more major than that." He looked over at Chipetsua and bowed his head a bit. "Thanks for bringing him here instead of taking him home like most people would have done. Well now, let's get you all cleaned up, Arlian. I'm gonna have to stitch your leg up, and seeing as those paper towels are drenched in blood, I'm asuming your arm is going to have to be stitched, as well. I'll be back in a few moments. Chipetsua, there are towels in that drawr, feel free to use them to clean him up." He pulled the jacket back up over Arlian's body and walked out.
Chipetsua's brows were quirked up a bit, his gaze following the doctor who had just left. "Hm.. I suppose he is not the type to pause to let others speak, hm?" He laughed a bit and kissed Arlian on the cheek, moving away from him and going to the drawr to grab a towel.
"How can you kiss me now?" Arlian looked at him, pulling the jacket around his fragile body protectivley.
"Do you not want me to kiss you and reassure that everything is going to be okay? Cause if you don't want me to, I won't. I mean, cause I will be one of those boyfriends who make sure you're in good hands and then leave to go after his sorry ass, do you want that?" He asked, coming back with the now wet towel and wiping up his leg. "I can be one of those boyfriends, but I don't want to."
"I just, dont even know how you can look at me after what he done...dont you find me disgusting?"
"No... Arlian.." Chipetsua pushed his hand through his hair and sighed, dabbing at the wound softly. "I'm just glad it was nothing worse than this.. He could've killed you, and you know it."
"Worse than this?" Arlians eyes welled up with tears again "I feel humiliated... I feel disgusting"
"You're alive. And I could easily make you feel better when you are able to leave the hospital.. and no, not that way you pervert." He smiled faintly at him and began to wipe at Arlian's bloodied hand. "Hey, what happend to your cell phone? Did he take it from you or something?"
"He broke it...and
that is the last thing I want to do, so I will not be a pervert" He smiled lightly.
"You're gonna need a new one. Can't have Saki worried about you now." He flicked his wrist and laughed softly. "See, I like that smile, it's beautiful. Try being positive through this, okay love?"
"But what if...what if hes given something to me...I wont be able to be with you anymore..."
"I'll have the doctors check, love. With your luck, he probably did, but with my luck eminating in this room, he most likely didn't. I'm nine-nine point nine nine percent sure he did not pass anything along."
"Shit, I feel so disgusting..." He frowned, laying back on the bed a bit awkwardly "Who was he - why did he look like you?"
"I wish I could tell you, but that would require me knowing who he was." He sat back down in the chair and ran a clean part of the towel along Arlian's face, cleaning up the dried tears line and wiping of the grimey sweat on his head. "I seen him when entering the store, but I thought he was just some guy who had bought something..."
"Ah, is our patient all cleaned up now?" The doctor asked, shutting the door behind him when he came in. He had a needle in his hand and stitching supplies in the other. ""This will hurt, Arlian. But of course, not as much as having something like that drove into your skin."
Arlian nodded at the doctor, not really prepared for more pain.
Chipetsua grabbed his hand and laced his fingers through Arlian's fingers, squeezing softly. "Relax."
The doctor nodded. "Yes, just relax. It will hurt more than a tickle, but less than paying your taxes." He joked, smiling as he stuck the needle into Arlian's leg and squeezed some of the nubming medicine into it.
Arlian whinced slightly and gribbed the bed covers in his hands, he closed his eyes, not wanting to see Chipetsua while he was in pain.
Chipetsua laid his free hand on Arlian's forehead and smiled smally at him. "It'll be okay."
He continued to poke the needle into various places down the long gash until he was done. He refilled the syringe and moved around to get to Arlian's arm, doing the same.
"Can't I go home today? i really don't want to stay here, Im sure I will be ok" Arlian asked the doctor, watching him as he stiched up his arm.
"Nope" He said matter-of-fact
ly. He slid the glasses down his head and positioned them over his eyes, humming quietly to himself.
"Oh, so now he's quiet." Chipetsua mumbled.
"What if I discharge myself?" Arlian asked again "I wont feel safe if Im not with Chipetsua"
"Nobody ever said Chipetsua could not stay. And you know what? Just for you I am willing to let that dog you were telling me about come and stay, he will need someone to look after him. It's not like we don't get dogs in here often to make the sick and elderly feel better."
Chipetsua smacked Arlian's arm and growled. "I told you I could've brought Eru in last time!" He sighed and leaned back in the chair, his hand still holding Arlian's.
"No, I want to be at home, I will discharge myself..." He simply informed the doctor,
"If you go home you're liable to be infected and become extremely ill. We need to get your white blood cell count up before you can leave. If you try to leave the premises the police will stop you and bring you back to your room, understood? I'm not gonna be happy if you're sick, and that's that." The doctor finsihed sticthing Arlian's arm and went down to sticthing his leg, a simple mask of contentment on his face.
Arlian pulled himself away from the doctor "Did you hear what I Said? I'm not staying here, you cant keep me here" He snapped at him "Chipetsua what did you do with my clothes?"
Chipetsua blinked a few times before reaching up and pulling the clothes from around his neck, a small frown on his face. "Arlian, I think you should stay here.. please?"
"Listen to reason, Arlian. If you stay here a couple of days then you will live and get to see this fine gentleman everyday. If you go home to be with him you will only see him for a few days and may end up dying because of infection."
Arlian took the clothes off of CHipetsua and pulled his jeans and t-shirt on before weakly getting up off the bed "You know what - Im gonna die of this disease anyway so I don't care. I just need to be at home"
"Arlian..." Chipetsua whimpered out. He was about to get up to try to stop him but instead he just placed his hands in his lap and looked down, his ears drooping heavily.
Arlian made his way to the door of the room before turning back and looking at Chipetsua "You coming?"
"He'll be right with you, Arlian." The doctor waved him off and looked down at Chipetsua, a small frown on his face.
Arlian looked at the doctor back to Chipetsua "Ok...I will wait outside..."
"Chipetsua, follow me please. We need to go to the lab for a moment so I can give you something." He walked out of the room with Chipetsua following behind, heading off down the hall and around the corner to the lab. "I will be giving you a couple of drink type medicines. They taste of citrus, and it is something that helps to fight of diseases and infections while the body recoperates. You'll have to give one to Arlian every two hours for the next two days, and if you run out you come back here for more, okay?" The doctor picked up a couple cases of the citrus flavored drinks and handed them to Chipetsua, patting him on the shoulder lightly. "I will gives these to you for free simply because I know Arlian is stubborn, having had to deal with him since he has been coming to the hospital since he got to Neontopia. And I know that you are going to have your hands full for the next two days. Hm.. After the first bottle of this he will feel like throwing up, but that's just because his body has to get used to the drink, but after that he will be fine and on his way to recovery from todays experience, okay? Now, off you go."
"Many, slow down every once in a while! Let people get words in before you walk off or send them on their way. Sheesh!" He exmcalimed in an over exagerated tone as he made his way to the front desk of the hospital. "Arlian, come on.. Time to go."
"What you got there?" Arlian asked as he saw CHipetsua carrying stuff.
"Something the doctor gave me. He says you have to drink one bottle of it every two hours for the next two days to help fight of disease and whatnot that would come after today's events."
Arlian nodded "Are you mad at me?"
"Not so much mad as I am disappointed that you would not take a doctor's advice.. But, hell, this place gives me the creesp so I can't blame you.. I'm sorry Arlian.. I left the car at the mall..."
"Its ok...we can take a taxi home?" Arlian huddled closer to Chipetsua, still feeling weak.
"Arlian, perhaps you should drink one now." Chipetsua readjusted the cases of drinks in his arms, shifting the weight onto one arm, and opened up one of the cases. He pulled one of the glass bottles out and handed it to Arlian, wrapping the same arm around his shoulders.
Arlian held the glass in his hands "But why...whats it for?"
"I'm guessing it acts as a sort of make shift immune system to work along side of your white blood cells, but you'd really have to ask your doctor that, ne?"
Arlian handed the bottle back to Chipetsua "I Will drink it when we get home..."
"Arlian, I will not feel shame in knocking you unconscious and pouring it down your throat." He threatened, balling his hand up as it lay over his shoulder so he could not take the bottle. "I will simply feel exausted trying to carry you and these damned cases to a taxi."
"You will feel exhausted?" Arlian nodded "Well I can walk myself to a taxi"
"Drink the beverage." He said with a sigh as they walked out of the hospital and to the streets. He stopped and let out a slight yawn, placing his fingers in his mouth over Arlian's head and whisling for a taxi right after.
Arlian didn't say anyting to the order Chipetsua gave him as a taxi pulled up beside them.
Chipetsua opened the door for Arlian and shut the door once he was in. He walked around to the other side and got in, as well, placing the cases of medical beverages on the ground and relaxing back against the car seat. "Take us to the cottage on the outskirts of the city." He looked over at Arlian and smiled a bit. "What? Am I not good enough to cuddle with anymore? We have all this space between us, close the gap, love."
"I can't" Arlian said, but almost as a whisper as he put his seatbelt on before he wrapped his arms around himself for protection.
Chipetsua's smile faded for a moment but returned as he scoot closer to Arlian, wrapping his arms around his beloved's small form. He laid the jacket over Arlian's chest arms and shoulders and placed his head against his neck. He looked out the window when the taxi began to move down the streets of Neontopia
