In a Bottle 4
Chapter 5 Lesson Learnt

Chapter 5
Wulf knocked on Crowe’s door. Crowe opened the door and stepped outside. “I’d welcome you all in, but I must say that I don’t think you’d all fit,” he little out a little chuckle.
“I just came down because I feel like I’m missing something and seeing how you’ve helped everybody else, I thought that maybe you could help me,” Wulf shrugged.
“I’ve got just the thing,” Crowe stepped into his home and emerged with a clear bottle that contained a clear liquid.
Wulf downed his offered elixir, returning the alchemist’s bottle to him. “Delicious. Thanks for your help, Crowe,” Wulf rubbed his belly with his hand.
“See?” William asked after Crowe had reentered his home, bidding them all a good night.
“I don’t feel no different,” Wulf shrugged.
“You’re lying!” Vulten growled.
“No, missy. The alchemist is a liar. Look in his window right now and tell me what you see,” Wulf replied evenly, watching the young beauty through narrowed eyes.
The entire village population watched through widened eyes as Crowe filled a container with water and dropped food coloring into it, placing it on a shelf with the same colored liquids.
“This is an outrage!” Batte shouted, pounding on Crowe’s door.
Crowe stepped outside again and was seized by his robes by a few angered villagers. “What’s going on?” Crowe gasped.
“You lied to us and made fools of us!”Luna cried.
“N-no!” Crowe replied, struggling against the angered mob.
“We saw what your potions really are!” Wulf snarled.
“Put the alchemist down,” Hare said firmly, so firm that everybody listened and turned to face their village elder.
“But sir,” Wulf started.
Hare shook his head,, “Why are you angry with him?”
“Because he lied to us!” a woman cried.
“But did you all not get what you wanted?” Hare asked and silenced the angry cries. “Crowe showed you some potential you had all along. Do not be angry with him for giving you what you asked for, no matter how he did it.”
“You’re right,” William agreed.
“I only wanted to help…” Crowe muttered from the ground where he was thrown.
“And you did,” Vulten replied with a smile.
“And that you did indeed,” Wulf said in awe.
