The Enginering rooms are probably the most dangerous rooms, atleast before the zombies came. Now it's one of the safest rooms, cause zombies could not get past those mashing blades. This room is filled with spinning blades, wiring and probably a few crowbars in there somewhere. You cant stay in there forever though.
After losing Stefan,
Naome wandered into this room, looking around curiously. She almost ran into a blade. She yelped and ducked down, her hair getting cut slightly. "What the hell is this place?!" she walked quickly to a table and looked around at all the blades and wires. "Man, this place is creepy..." she sighed as her mind started buzzing, along with her cell phone. She took it out and looked at the screen. One new voicemail, and she couldn't even answer it. On the grounds, her phone was as dead as the zombies that would soon plague the school. She heard an announcement over the speakers and amazingly over the noise of the machines. She got up and blinked. "Stefan...?" she walked to the
HH Hallways to see what was going on.
Stefan managed to get there before anyone else, shivering at the whirring blades. He reached over to the plug and pulled it, stopping the blades for a moment. "Now... what to do?" he said, walking around to see what was left in the school.
Naome came in soon after with Uriko, sitting her on the table. She smiled and started wrapping up and patching the cuts on her legs.
Merc ran in.She set Jacwues down on the floor."Now,jus
t cause I saved your butt, doesn't mean we're all goodygoody buddies now."
Uriko crossed her arms and growled quietly.
Stefan handed her a crowbar that he had found "Here, if anything nasty comes threw the door, hit it." He went over to a mounted table saw "Ummmm... can someone help me get this off?"
Naome finished patching her up. "Uriko, I get the feeling that you hate me or something..." she said softly.
Merc walked over to Stefen and helped him get the table saw off.
"Its just that.." Uriko started looking sadder than before, "You did something that...that reminded me of something...Something that I don't like to talk or think about."
Naome looked down sadly. "I'm sorry..."
"Don't be," Uriko told her.
Naome got up and sighed. "I am." she looked up and smiled slightly. "I'm going to go out and make sure everyone is okay." she said, walking out of the room.
"Naome!"Merc yelled."Fuck!"She kicked the wall.
Stefan sighed and grabbed the table saw. He looked around, went over to a table and grabbed a few things from underneath.
Uriko sighed, "Need any help Stefan?" she asked.
"Can you take the wheels off the spiny chair with the crow bar please?" Stefan mumbled from beneath the table, kicking a teacher's revolving chair over towards Uriko.
"Just the wheels?" Uriko asked starting to take the wheels off.
Merc looked at them and sighed. She started to practice with the daggers and the metal pipe.
"JUst the wheels... Merc can you get me some wires?" Stefan asked, pulling out a large battery and some motors.
"Okay" Uriko said finishing taking off the wheels, "done"
"Hai."Merc said and walked over to a bunch of wires on the ground and in a drawer. She brought them to him
Stefan felt slightly uneasy doing this. He didn't know if it would work. He grabbed some wires, smiled, and began to fiddle with the wheels, motors, wires and battery.
Naome walked back in, sighing softly. "I didn't see anyone in the halls... not even the dead people..."
"They could be in the grand Hall" Uriko said.
"Which is why I need to complete this soon..." Stefan said, grabbing the table saw and starting to mess with that as well. He smiled gently at Naome as she came in "Are you ok?"
Naome nodded and hid her hand in her sweater. "Yup, I'm fine. I just wanted my sweater out of my locker." she chuckled.
"Don't Lie Naome" Uriko said.
Merc noticed something was wrong."Let me see your hand."
Naome smiled slightly. "I just fell and sprained it is all, its okay."
"Then why are your knuckles bruised?" Uriko asked looking suspicious.
"I tried catchig muself, but my hand was holding my sweater, so I basically ended up punching the ground." Naome laughed nervously, scratching the back of her head.
"Don't lie Naome!" Uriko Yelled, "What really happened?"
Stefan sighed, and with a sudden swoop he had Naome in his arms, holding her close agaisnt his thin chest "Dont worry Naome. Everything's gonna be fine. If you ahve any problems just tell us ok?"
Naome blushed brightly, her heart rate quickening. "O-okay??"
"Awww...Romace."Merc said."I think I'm guna puke."
Uriko got up and started walking to the halls, "I'll be right back"
Naome sighed softly. "Okay, I can't keep lying anymore...I punched my locker..." she looked down sadly.
Uriko quietly disappeared into the halls.
Sophia sprinted down the hallway and, seeing people, stopped in the Engineering room. She wasn't winded from running because of the stamina she'd built up over the years, but she was still pale and frightened looking. "D-didn't you people go to the clock tower?" she said quietly, clutching at her bag and holding it close.
"Yes we went there, it was fun times too. I like the Clock Tower" said Jacques, looking absent. "But they dragged me out. They want to stayed grouped..."
"It was crowded and the only other way was up" Stefan mumbled "And they kept wasting their ammo on already dead.. whatever's out there."
"What are you making?" Sophia asked Stefan, seeing that he was fiddling with something. She moved further into the room but not so far that she couldn't see out into the hallway. Every now and then she glanced nervously out of the room, wondering if the front doors in the main hall had been opened yet.
"Trap..." Stefan mumbled, taking the saw and attaching it to the motors with a few bolts. He picked up some small rods, the chair wheels, and some wires and started to work on the propulsion.
Jacques, suddenly gleeful, got up and rummaged through the tool bxes and different things in the room. He was muterring like mad too, in French though.
Now curious about what he was saying, Naome walked over to look at what exactly Jacques was doing.
Seeing Naome coming, Jacques showed off his work. He made something that looked like a ... "Baïllonette! To take out enemies that are too close!"
"Woah! That looks awesome!" Naome smiled.
"It was an English speciality, but I like conceot of butchering poeple from up close if need be." said Jacques, happy to see his project was approved of. "Do you want one too?"
"No thanks, I like my little knives better. " Naome smiled. She took out all the knives from all three of her pockets. "I like to keep them with me because my mom wants to throw them out. I'm a collector. They usually stay in my locker, but now I can actually use them." she smiled.
"Then you should leaden your sleeves to hit harder and more accurately" said Jacques. "It was a common thing before, and it's still useful."
Stefan stepped back and stared at his trap. It was the blade layed sideways with two motored wheels connected to the battery as well, a large switch on the side. There was a string leading from the switch to a thick spike. He grabbed it, groaned as he set it down onto the floor, and stared at it "Wonder if it'll work."
naome heard Stefan and looked over. "Wonder what wi...ahh, what is that thing??"
"Nail this" Stefan said happily, holding up the spike "into a wall, streach it tight." He twanged the thread slightly "When someone hits this, the robot will fire up and dash across the place, taking the things knees out."
Merc was leaning against a wall. She looked like she had fallen asleep.
A deep moan reverberated down the hall, rattling the doors with it's force. The hallways were amplifying the noises of the incoming zombies ten fold, making them echo around the room and fill everyone's head with the sound.
Stefan gulped "I think... we should arm ourselves..."
Uriko ran into the room out of breath, "We...are not...alone any...more" she said.
"Looks that way" Stefan said, looking around as he wheeled his robot to the front of the classroom infront of the door "Grab something and get ready, we dont want to rely on my robot too much."
"I've been ready since that zombie tried to eat me," Uriko said clutching the daggers in her hadns tightly.
"Shoot them in the head."The seemingly sleeping Mercury ordered."Thats the only way for them to stay dead.
"You're the only one in here with a gun.." Stefan pointed out "We've just got to pray and maybe run."
"Okay, stab them in the head.Penitrate their skull. They should die after that."Merc said. She was reading a book.
Naome took out her daggers and knives.
Jacques got ready too, gun out. "Think of burning the bodies if you can. We never know..."
"Why run?" Uriko said, "They'll just follow us"
"If you dont run, you'll get eaten" Stefan pointed out "Just dont get cornered ok?"
"If I do, They'll dead in an instand" Uriko told Stefan.
merc sighed softly.
Sophia moved quickly away from the door and up against the wall. She was visibly shaking, clutching her bag to her chest for some form of comfort. When Merc talked about stabbing, Sophia almost paniced. What could she use? She'd never used a knife in her life on anything but her food. In her panic, she dropped her heels on the floor and jumped as they hit the ground. Picking them up, she stared at them momentarily before turning them over and picking the rubber cover off of the pointed heel, revealing the metal underneath. Taking the rubberband off of her wrist, she pulled her hair back, pushed her back behind her so she wouldn't hit it as she moved, and then armed each hand with a stiletto heel. A funny sight, really, since she was still visibly shaking.
There was some creaking coming from the vents above them. Clearly someone was in them above the group. The noise continued along the vents and eventually stopped at the opening gate on the wall. There was someone kicking at the gate, trying to jerk it open.
Stefan yelped in surprise. They all seemed to be emassing around the enginering room. Gulping he moved over to the grate and started pulling at it, deciding that zombies couldn't kick that hard. "Who is it?" he said rather stupidly as he yanked at the metal grill.
"It's Rika and Aleksandr." He nudged the female forward and to the other side of the grate so he could peer through it to see who was trying to help them. "Stefan, move back a bit, alright?" He smiled at him through the metal, clenching his fists together and resting them on the grate.
Rika pulled out a mini screw driver from her pocket and held it up a little, "Ne- Assistance?"
"Only if you can slip your hand through the grate and unscrew the screws, wenig ein." Aleksandr giggled a bit and looked at the screwdriver, quirking an eyebrow.
The sound of whirring started up the other side, Stefan stood there with a hand hack saw. "Go back for a second, this'll be quicker."
The Russian lifted his hands up from the grate and inched back a bit, nodding down at him. "Hurry up, Stefan."
Rika made a twisting face at the screwdriver for a moment and saw her flaw that Alek pointed out. "Watashi wa baka..." she put it into her jacket and steered clear of the saw.
There were a few small sparks, then the grate dropped to the floor infront of stefan. He turned off the saw and blinked the sparks from his eyes. "Welcome to casa de luuurve. Please try not to die, and if you must dont make a splatter."
"You're not an idiot or stupid, Rika. Here, ladies first." He grabbed one of her hands and helped her out of the vent. "Stefan, make sure she does not twist her ankle, yeah?" He asked, peering down at him past her body.
"I've seen Rika twist her way into a u-bend once... she's not going to sprain an ankle" Stefan laughed, looking away and going back over to his robot.
Rika looked up at Alek and smiled. "This one good." she let go of him and fell. When her feet hit the ground, her whole body kept the momentum and went down. When she was in a full crouch, she rolled forwards into a barrel row and stood up right after. Rika looked up at him in the vent, "This one wonders if your being will be well in the fall."
"I may not be as graceful, but I will not hurt myself if I land on my butt. And sorry, Stefan, I am just considerate and actually look after friends." Aleksandr dropped down out of the vent head first and caught himself with his hands, balling up and rolling forward. He let out a sigh and scratched at his bared chest, looking back at Rika with a faint smile. "Seems I forgot my shirts... I think I should go back for them. Hm, I think I will grab them later, though."
"I'm worried about them..." Stefan said, pointing down the hall. There were dark figured walking down the hall, moaning and shuffling along slowly. "Comeon, enough showboating. Grab a crowbar and get ready."
Rika purred like a kitten for a second, "tansei..." she whispered, eying up his body a little. She snapped out of it after a second and adjusted her lime green headband in her maroon-colored hair.
Nodding and pushing himself up from the ground, Aleksandr stretched out and let out a small yawn. "You're worried about them, well, there is no need... I can tell you, they can take a hit. Too bad we were not in the male locker room, I could've grabbed my chain. I'm fine without a crowbar, though, Stefan. So long as they don't smell blood or hear us then they shouldn't be able to find us, right?"
"You want to take that chance?" Stefan asked, wheeling his robot infront of the door and extending the wire tight. He worked the wire into the crack between the door and the frame, drawing it taught. "Now..." he said, checking it was ok "What are we going to do?"
Uriko bit her bottom lip as she noticed her wrists bleeding once more, but didn't want anyone to know.
"Alright, now, since the doors are good for now, everybody make sure there are no cuts on you that will risk being cut open by scraping against sharp objects and whatnot, alright? As for me, I'm going to find some wrap. Would there happen to be any in here, Stefan? I'm sure you would probably know since you've been in here for a bit."
"I'm your man tuesday." Stefan mumbled, throwing Alek a long sheet of paper "I'd be your man friday but I dont think Rika can last that long." He sighed and rubbed his head "Anyone know why the fence is electrocuted?"
"To electricut the zombies maybe" Uriko said hiding her wrist behind her back.
"Well it's working lousy and there isn't even a hole in it..." Stefan sighed "I the zombies came too quick anyway, they must have come from within."
Rika wrote down some things in her notebook and searched around the room.
"I think perhaps the energy box was tampered with or knocked loose when a student climbed over it, or attempted to anyways." He eyed Rika for a moment before smiling and looking away, accepting the wrap and starting to wrap up the wrist that held the girly heart tattoo on it. "Oh, by the way, you never properly soaked your hands, did you wenig ein?" He asked, tossing the roll of wrap back over to Stefan and turning to look at Rika as she walked around.
"Nani?" Rika asked Alek, not sure what he meant by soaking her hands. She knelt down by a metal stool and put her screwdriver into good use.
Aleksandr leaned back against a table saw and finished off the knot on his wrist. He looked back at the saw and eyed it for a moment, sort of using it as a mirror, flicking some bangs out of his face casually. "Your hands, they were zapped by the fence."
"Negative, love." Rika said, glancing at her burnt palms for a moment. She finished unscrewing one leg of the stool. Picking up the wobbly end, she smached it into the table. The seat and other 2 legs were knocked off. In Rika's hand was the one metal leg with a jagged, sharp edge on the top. It looks similar to a sithe.
Stefan groaned as he fumbled the roll of paper and it smacked to the ground. He rolled it away "So, first things first. We need to switch off the lights..." he looked up at the ceiling and whimpered "May god help us..."
"Well, either way, you're gonna have to sooner or later. The blisteres will start popping and hurting if you grip that too tightly, so, loosen the grip a bit." He reached back and grabbed the saw with his hand, turning himself around and walking around the table so that he had a better view of the obect holding the jagged and circular blade. When he noticed it was merely a few screws holding it to another object her grabbed a keychain from his pocket and used a key to unscrew it. Aleksandr wiggled the balde loose, careful not to cut himself, and placed it on the table. He figured he could at least cut off a zombie's head with it if he aimed right.
"Just rip it off, if me and Merc can manage it so can you..." Stefan mumbled, looking down the hall as he loosened his grip on the blade of his robot slightly. "They're still coming..." he pointed out, wondering why they seemed to be attracted to this place.
"No risking cutting myself~!" Aleksandr said in a sing song voice, flicking his wrist slightly and jumping up to sit down on the table, running his finger along the metal of the blade boredly. "How do you manage to sit still for so long? I'm already bored... Must've been from all that sitting still while studying." He sighed out.
"No it's from being shut inside a locker by a bully and not being found for the rest of the day..." Stefan muttered, his eyes flashing angrily up at Alek. Damn Jocks "Once you've spent all day in a hot metal box you can easilyamuse yourself."
"Don't give me that look, Stefan. I've never done you any wrong, don't judge me simply because of what I find fun and good stress relievers. Get your views straight, you don't see me judging you simply because you are smart." Aleksandr crossed one leg over the other, flicking his foot in an agitated way, something he rarely ever did, but since he had no way to work off the sudden anger he really had no choice.
"I dont trust any jocks anymore" Stefan half growled to himself "Too many swirlies and being shoved in a locker. I tried to do things to make them like me but I just got more of it..."
"Stop judging my teammates based off of your series of unfortunate years in school. Stop acting uppity simply because you are smart, turn it off every once in a while and perhaps you will actually make some friends instead of having just a robot at your side... Most of the jocks are dimwitted, yes, but at least the smarter ones have the decency to not brag about it and make them feel like shit for barely passing and staying on their team with a 'C' or a 'C-'. Get on the good side of one of the jocks who mess with you then things like that will most likely cease to happen, think about that for a bit."
"I-!" Stefan began then lowered his voice to a dangerous hiss "I did their homework for them, I tutored some of them. Some I even put wheels in their shoes but I did NEVER get a single word of thanks or of gratitude. I've made a lot of friends here, and I've got nothing against you but from years of torture in every school I've been to expect a bit of critism."
"Innocent, insecure one now moron is." Rika rolled her eyes at Stefan's last comment. "Why homework you cheat to them? Stand up thyself yes?"
"Some had extra homework... mostly I did it just to get them to like me..." Stefan sighed, rubbing his forehead and whimpering softly.
"That won't get them to like you" Uriko said to Stefan.
Sophia watched as people bickered, still standing against the wall, shaking, with her adjusted high heels at the ready.
"You're just submitting to them, don't do that. Jocks feed off of that, makes them feel so much more superior than they think they already are." Aleksandr let out a silent sigh and placed his foot back on the ground before leaning back and propping himself up with his arms. "Start rebeling against them, fight back, and sure, you'll be tortured a bit, but sooner or later they will no longer find it fun or funny and will just leave you alone to pick on the next student to walk through the doors. No, I'm not saying that's right but hey, at least it'll be off of you. Anyways, lets stop bickering, it's just causing more noise. You have your views, I have my advice, take it or leave it, I don't care. Just don't look at me with such eyes, I hate being judged."
I tried fighting back in my OTHER schools Stefan fumed to himself, smiling weakly at Uriko "Ok... so we need to switch off the power..." he said, getting back to business "Where's the breaker again?"
By now Rika had crawled on top of one of the tables and had fallen asleep. A little power nap never hurt anyone.
Aleksandr got up from the table, grabbing the saw blade, and wlaked over to the table to which Rika was sleeping on. He pulled a stool over to him and sat down infront of her, his back to her as he watched the doors.
Star had crawled through a ceiling vent, at first to escape the zombies, then after hearing the announcement. She suddenly fell out from the opening of the vent and onto the hard floor. She squinted and held her head, looking around at everyone. "umm..hi?" she said, forcing herself up and dusting herself off.
"Hello, Star." Holly said, appearing out of what seemed to be nowhere.
"Hey" Star replied, looking at her, then at everyone else again.
Stefan blinked as another person crashed onto the floor "Uhhhh.... live army against dead army... hooray."
"Sorry about that.." Star said, then looking at the floor.
Uriko stared into space seeing zombies all around her, just like before. Her eyes widened.
Kitten kicked off the vent cover and fell down to the floor, she stood up slowly, looking around. She saw Stephan, Rika and Alek. "I'm guessing the enginering room?" She smiled slightly.
"Yup. Welcome. Try not to die" Stefan muttered, waving greetings the the new comers.
"I'll try, thanks," Kitten slid down against a wall, closing her eyes.
Snapping out of it, Uriko, walked toward Stefan and whispered to him, "I keep seeing things...what do you think it could mean?"
"It means you should rebind those bandages on your wrists..." Stefan whispered back "Cause I dont want you to be ignoring real zombies and attacking fake ones."
Uriko nodded and unwrapped her wrist. There was no cut there, yet it continued to bleed. She looked at it curiously and grabbed some bandages from her pocket beginning to tightly wrap her wrist.
Star watched Uriko tightly wrap her wrist and shuddered from a thought, but stayed with her back to the wall, watching everyone once in a while.
"Need any help with anything?" Uriko asked as she finished wrapping her wrist and putting the rest of the bandages in her pocket.
"If you can't stop the bleeding soon...wouldn't it be wise to cauterize the wounds so you don't lose too much blood?" Sophia suggested, her voice a tiny bit steadier than her own body.
"There is no wound..." Uriko said quietly but louder enough for her to hear.
"If there's not a wound," Sophia said, raising a curious eyebrow, "Then where is the blood coming from?"
"I don't know" Uriko said.
Star looked at the two girls then slowly but gracefully made her way up to Stefan. "Was it you who made the announcement?" she asked.
Stefan nodded and was about to speak when the doors crashed open. His face paled as he heard the whirr of an engine starting up. There was a few seconds, then the sound of flesh being torn from the bone as the trap Stefan had set ripped it's way through the knees of the first few lines of zombies as they stumbled into the blade. "THEY'RE IN!" he yelled, stumbling futher away.
Star looked completely shocked at first then took one of her daggers and threw it at a Zombie. "And here I thought Zombies were always stupid" she muttered to herself. She looked back at Stefan "Are you okay??"
"They are" Uriko said appearing in the middle of the crowd of zomibes. Moments later they were all dead, "but not when it comes to food..."
Rika perked up from her little power nap and stood on the table. "Love?"
"Love?" aleksandr echoed when he heard Rika, standing up from the stool and looking back at her. "Ah, nevermind. Those of you who have no intention of fighting or are too afraid to fight, get to the back of the room." He instructed casually, eyeing the people in the room for a moment.
Stefan shivered and reached inside his pocket "Im not backing off..." he mumbled. He looked around at the others "Everyone get ready to fight and run."
Rika ran from the table and placed her foot on Alek's shoulder. She was very short and light so it wasn't a burden. She bent her legs and lept towards the zombies "Haiaku!" She landed and sliced two of them clean across their torso. Blood sprayed into the air.
"Woman, if you hurt yourself...!" He sighed out, shaking his head a bit before grabbing the saw blade from the table and throwing it at one of the zombies entering into the room near Rika. It sliced through the dead male's neck and the zombie fell to the floor, the blade along with it.
"You okay Stefan?" Uriko asked stabbing two zombies on both sides of her, killing them.
Two phials flew out and struck the horde stumbling threw the doors. The first two were taken down as the phial shattered in their face, several others screached in pain as the liquid inside splashed over them and bit into their face. "I can handle myself..." Stefan mumbled as he stuck his hands back in his pockets.
"Well sorry for asking!" Uriko said loudly walking into the halls killing every zombie that crossed her path.
Star followed after, slaying the zombies in her way with her dagger, never looking back as she did. She looked at Uriko, then stared at Stefan for a moment, but didn't say a word and quietly kept killing.
Rika was covered from head to toe in the zombie's blood. She puckered her lips a little and whipped her scythe once, slashing the blood onto the wall.
The wall of zombies didn't seem to be stopping however. When one fell two took it's place. The room would be flooded in minutes.
Sophia screamed when she saw the zombies and lashed out at them with her high heels, aiming for their heads, trying to puncture through their eye sockets with the sharp metal of her heels.
"Rika, time to go." Aleksandr said rather calmly, walking to her side and placing a hand on her shoulder. "Come on. This room will be filled soon and I would much rather not see any of you guys hurt, come on. Stefan, hurry along."
Stefan nodded and turned his robot around. Covering his head with his arms he switched on the motor and blade. It began to move forward, carrying the skinny Stefan with it as it mowed down the zombies infront of him.
Star smiled Wow, he's braver than i thought she thought to herself, as she continued going forward, slaying the zombies with her daggers;one in each hand.
Desperately, Sophia ran after the others, ramming the heel of her shoes into the head of any zombie that got to close. Tears were falling down her face as she held back the need to scream again.
Star looked over at Sophia and sighed. "Are you okay?" she asked.
"A-as fine as I can be in this situation," Sophia stuttered, wiping the tears off of her face with the back on her hands.
"Well, it'll be okay. I won't let anything happen to you, neither will anyone else" Star smiled, but quickly it dissepeared and she kept slaying the zombies as if she'd never opened her mouth at all.
"T-thanks," Sophia said and then flailed out at a zombie as it came her way, managing to jam both heels into it's skull and then pushed it away into a few other zombies.
Rika latched herself on Alek's back. "Go!"
"I'm a horse?" He asked in amusement, grabbing her thighs and hurrying out of the room behind the others. "Kill any of the zombies that decide they wish to surprise us, okay, Rika?" Aleksandr jumped over a few of the lying corses on the ground as he continued on, humming softly to himself, content that he actually was going to get a workout today.
"W-we should get out of here!" Sophia screamed, meaning for Star to hear as she saw Rika and Aleksandr darting into the hallway.
Star turned and smirked "Don't worry, we'll be okay, i promise." she said, her face once again going quite sad as she walked, slaying zombies in her way.
Sophia followed Star closely, spearing zombies in the heads with her shoes and then pushing them as far away as her tiny arms could manage.
"You know, you're really good with that heel strategy of yours. Keep up the good work" Star smiled lightly, still slaying zombies with her dagger as she passed them.
Naome just kept throwing daggers at the zombie's heads, like Merc had told them to do. She looked around, and ran after the ones that went into the hallway.
The power vanished, the lights flickered and faded into darkness. Now the only thing lighting the way was the moonlight, and the faint glow of the zombies eyes.
Sophia bit her lip and whimpered when the lights went out, her first instinct being to scream. Instead, she pushed forward, aiming for the faint glow of the eyes for her heels and pushed her way into the hallway. Afraid she'd lose the other girl, she grabbed Star and pulled her into the hallway with her.
