Hello, and welcome to the Gryphon Contest. I'm [Ichigo Ryu] and I've decided to hold a contest for gryphons. I'm looking for a unique gryphon, or one not of the "original" type. So using your imagination and playing with different creatures would be good. Anyways, here are the rules.

Rules:
1.)Be unique
2.)Don't talk badly about someones artwork.
3.)Any type of creature is welcomed, as long as it has part "gryphon" in it.
4.)Do not modify this page if you don't like someones artwork.
5.)The picture doesn't have to be "perfect". As long as you're happy with it, then submit it.
6.)Do not steal anyone elses artwork. If I see this then I will report you to the elftown guards.
7.)Have fun when drawing this. Don't stress yourself.

I'm not sure when the contest will end, but it might be awhile. I understand that some people go to school and their lives are filled with a lot of things. So when I think that we have enough people, I'll close the contest.

Prizes: The thing about this is that my scanner is still down, and I don't know when it'll be back up. I was going to put that I would had out a First, Second, Third and Fourth prize and they'd get an art trade with the badges. As for the first three runner ups, it would be just a badge. But, for now I can't offer that seeing how my scanner is down. I'm doing my best to get it back up so please bear with me.

Creature: For the creature or the "gryphon" if you like drawing two legs rather than four, then go ahead. I'm not terribly picky as long as it does have a little bit of gryphon in it.

Well, you know, a gryphon, by deffinition is a creature half lion, half eagle... you're saying that you want another kind of hybrid that looks like a gryphon, is that it? Like, for example, a half eagle half horse type creature (a hyppogryph)?

2005-12-03 [syagre]: I've a nice gryphon pic featured in some emblem I created, but it's definitely some kind of "conventional gryphon". Would it have a place in here or rather not ?

2005-12-09 [Ichigo Ryu]: Yes, I don't want the Half lion half eagle. I want you to mix breeds, such as the head of a bird, or the head of tiger, something kinda like that. ^_^ But hey, if you like the original gryphons better, go for it. ^^;

2005-12-09 [Paz]: It's a creature that has the head, wings and front legs of an eagle and the rump, backlegs, and tail of a lion. [Ichigo Ryu] wants you to mix it up a bit and make a non-traditional gryphon :)
