Description

Dukane was born in the threshold of the Northern tribes of the Savannah Elves, along with several of his kin. Although drought and famine forced him to provide for his tribe elsewhere. He was not well informed as a child of the wonders within the world, but when he stumbled into Alexandria, the trade city, he felt as if he had found his new place in life.

Dukane began earning a life as a simple errand boy at first, buying with all he earned food and supplies for his family. The meager rations did not serve them well, and he looked for other sources of income. His search brought this teenage boy to the Black Market, where word reached him that the profits here were plentiful. So Dukane joined up with the first mob lord who would hire him, but within a few weeks on the job he realized the horrors he was commiting to the poor of this nation. He immediately sought new employment, but was hunted down and beaten within an inch of his life.

He was found bruised and bleeding on the side of the road by a retired defender veteran of the Alexandrian Guard. Nursed to health by the kindly old man, Dukane immediately asked the elder for training in self defense. The old man began to convey his knowledge and taught the young elf all the ways of the defender, but luck once again turned its face away from Dukane. The old man was hunted by the mob lord who had hired Dukane, and killed by a head hunting gang. Dukane woke to a thump on the door and saw the cruelty of his past displayed before him as his master's head was on the doorstep. Horrified, the savannah elf boy donned his master's armor and went after his previous employer.

The enraged youth began to hone his skills against the black market lords and became somewhat of a folk hero amongst the slums. However a chance encounter with a mob lord named Mordbeg gave him the opportunity to slay his former employer, since the goblin was a bitter rival of him. Dukane set off to kill the lord, and during the night he slipped within his room and crushed the foul creature's skull with his master's hammer. In blood the elf wrote on the wall, "justice be done!" and the boy elf slinked back to his master's house and wept the remainder of the night, ashamed of what he had done.

Since that fateful day where he had exacted his revenge, Dukane has since joined the Alexandrian Guard and served to protect rather than to slay the wicked. He now tries with all his might and commanding ability to keep the peace in the Black Market and Slum districts. He keeps a close watch over mob lords and is known to be a thorn in both Mordbeg's and Randar's side. Although famed within the slums, Dukane still gives a larger portion of his earning to send food and supplies back to his home. Recently, he has developed a sort of infatuation with Tantra, the winter elf who strolled into town and stole the boy warrior's heart.
