Description

Tantra was born in a village on the island of everlasting winds, Borea Zephris. She was taken as an apprentice by a great master Aeromancer and Runesmith named Kai Anortis, one of the best in those days. She studied under his tutilage for much of her early life, and soon she became able to weild the essences of wind and lightning. Proud of his pupil, Kai Anortis even felt somewhat like a father to Tantra. Although this peaceful time in her life was soon to end...

The Great Warlock, Naz'hul, landed upon the shores of Borea Zephris. He was the last remaining Wind Warlock of the Winter Elf tribe annihilated by the Chaos Legion. Seeking refuge, even he began to conquer the ways of air on the island while watching Tantra practics with Anortis. After learning their ways, the warlock used his magical mastery of shamanism and control of ethereal creature to summon an army of Zauba'a, or Wind Demons. Anortis began to suspect the Warlock's intentions and went to his mountain lair. Tantra followed her master, as she was a rebellious child and was curious of her master's suspicions.

Anortis saw Naz'hul conjuring wind demons and was appauled. He challenged the wind warlock to a duel, and the two decimated the mountain top with their extreme powers. However, Anortis was slain in the end and Tantra was devestated. Her rage turned swiftly to anger and she herself demanded a challenge with her master's foe. Naz'hul accepted and with a gust of wind tossed the apprentice Aeromanceress off the mountain. As she tumbled down the slope, she landed with barely an inch of life left to her. When she woke, her eye caught the villages below the mountain glowing brightly. They were burning, and she mustered the strength to stand to her feet and hike the remaining path down to the village. The Zauba'a had rampaged her town and all surrounding it, enslaving the population under the control of Naz'hul. Tantra's fall had kept her from enslavement, but her rage had only increased with the warlock's treachery and thus she sailed alone across the northern seas to warn her kind of Borea's fate.

Tantra spent the journey sailing at the mercy of the northern currents, but she was inexperienced and sailed past Æonwinter completely. She opened the sails and used her wind magic in hopes of correcting her ship's course, but even her powerful magic failed and she learned that no matter how strong a mancer becomes, they would always be at the mercy of the world's power. The remainder of her journey carried her to the realm of Adon, a continent she knew little of.

For what seemed ages, she attempted to find a route to Æonwinter but the peoples of Adon knew nothing of the northern continent. Stumbling through forests and grasslands, she eventually found her way into a caravan headed for the trade city of Alexandria. She was immediately taken in by a wagon owned by an old woman, who was rather taken in by Tantra's kindness in a land of nearly constant tribal war. Upon reaching the trade city, the old woman gave to Tantra one of her most sacred possessions, the Hildara Cloak. Tantra gladly accepted the gift, blessed with the magic of sages and could adapt itself to any environment, something Tantra needed in a land she new nothing about. She wandered the streets of this city, not knowing what to expect or who she would find.
