Pumpkinhead is a mare, and has built his body from the origin of becoming exorcized into local vegetation, namely a pumpkin squash. He has since added to his form stilts, straw, sacks, and leather gloves (Attributing the nicknames, "Stilted Demon" or "Scarecrow"). His strait jacket is actually what held him during his stay in captivity in the Fellrise lands, it has been bleached clean to white and given a more regal appearance with navy blue lined in orange silk thread. His knee guards don fashioned skulls given to him as a gift from an imp lord seeking sanctuary from the netherworld, and his wide-brimmed leather hat was tailored by the lycanthropes after Pumpkinhead slew a warlock wearing such a hat as he attempted to retrieve the black cauldron. His weapon, the Evernight, was a gift from Casper Von Greylark, the lord of death (a title given to him after such a mighty gift).

Personality

Pumpkinhead is the lord of Haunts, a mighty demon who conquered Lith from the gnomes and leprechuans ages ago. He delights in causing fear, but his demonic lust for power and corruption still lingers though not nearly as strong as that of his peers. As a warlock historian, Pumpkinhead is very eccentric in his own evil way, cackling and aspiring to bring fright to even the bravest of warriors. Pumpkinhead holds a dire jealousy towards all other demons since their eidolons are allowed to return to the netherworld, but with his recent linking to Plemora he has not had much reason to uphold such jealousy of his kind. Pumpkinhead lives out his immortal life researching tomes and further increasing his knowledge of Æther for reasons unknown. This mare demon holds an astounding attachment to the land he took from the gnomes and leprechuans, and does not dare give it away to those who would return it to the way it was before his arrival.

History

Pumpkinhead is the lord of Lith, born from the immortal wretches of the Dark Lord, Hades. Long ago the two demons had a falling out with each other as Pumpkinhead fought against the Lord of suffering. They became bitter towards each other, but Pumpkinhead was defeated eventually by the onslaught of Hades and cast into the mortal realm as punishment. Cast into the guise of a squash in a farmers crop, the demon began to fashion its body as most Mares do from pieces surrounding their summoning point. Pumpkinhead was immediately exorcized and captured before his body could take complete form. Chained and bound within a dungeon in the Fellrise Plains, the demons was held for decades under the careful watch of the warriors under the command of the famed Marcus Fellrise. The Mare began to harbor a deep seeding hatred for the known Demonslayer lord of the Humans, and Pumpkinhead was interrogated by the human lord. The Mare placed a curse on Marcus and his household, that eventually his family would break their bonds and slaughter themselves. Eventually, the demon escaped from his shackles and forced his way through the streets of Midgard building more onto his body from parts collected along the way. Pumpkinhead was chased throughout the Fellrise Plains by the newly established Cora Cavalry and hunted wherever he went. The demon had nowhere to turn but to the sea and took a boat for his own and journeyed across the waves never to set eyes on the Fellrise Human lands again. His fate carried the vessel he rode to the island of Lith, where evil was unknown to the peaceful earth people. The stilted demon, as he became known, easily conquered the once blessed lands of the Leprechuans, Gnomes, and other earthly fae on the island of Lith.
The island soon slipped into a tyranny unmatched until the second rise of Apochryphai. The Leprechauns then became thankful as the lesser of two evils defended the island against hordes of marauding skeletons and infested demonic warriors. Although Lith was not attacked by the full force of the Überdemon, the residents of Lith survived only through the powerful efforts of the haunting demonic tyrant. After the damage was dealt to the forsaken island, Pumpkinhead forged an offer with a few of the ancient and persecuted races of Adon. The stilted demon offered them solace within his borders provided that they do not challenge the authority of his territory. Ever since then, Pumpkinhead has become the only demon in the realm of Adon that is bargained with. And although he is a demon with an evil soul and nightmarish behavior, Pumpkinhead knows how best to protect the borders of his land.
After the most recent invasion against his land, Pumpkinhead had a close encounter of death by the hand of a warlock equalling in power to his own. If not for the arrow of Lykaios, Pumpkinhead would have been slain. The fear of his Eidolon trapped within the prisons of Limbo for eternity became a reality as the mortals of Æther grew ever more powerful. Pumpkinhead sought out a means to give his spirit a place to return, and grant him the immortality he desired so greatly from his origins. It was in mysterious tomes aging long before the dawn of mankind that his answer was revealed, and Pumpkinhead called upon the lords of Lith to aid him in opening a portal to Plemora, the realm of the Aeons. In releasing their kind from their eternal seperation, Pumpkinhead was linked to the Plemora to give him the passage after death he desired. Now many considered Pumpkinhead a demonic aeon because of his linking to the chaotic realm, and his power has only increased now that his immortality is no longer threatened.
