11 Nov - Day 5. Utrecht Part 2

Later on, we found a funny sign. It refers to Nijntje, a little rabbit heroe of children's stories. It seemed out of place to have that sign there, but cute also ^^.

More water!!!

One of our good surprises when visiting the town was to come across a windmill, in the middle of the town. It had scaffoldings, as it was being cleaned or repaired, but it had still an impressive look. Jelle told me that one of the purpose of these windmills was to remove water to dry the land. The other was just to make flour. I don't know in which catergory that one went, as it was closed. But still its impressive figure dominated the area.

On the way back to the town center, we saw a horse statue, and a giant shopping mall. In it, there was some weird sculpture made of a column with a knot on it.

Walking in Utrecht at night can also be interesting.

Winter decorations are already on

In the town center, the canal borders are lower than the rest of the city, creating something looking like a floor, where you can find a lot of nice little restaurants wo have a terrace giving straight on the water. It's very nice, although I don't want to imagine what happens if it rains too much at some point. We had dinner in one of these restaurants, an italian with very good pizzas.

Then we walked some more on the canal to find some nice night-time scenes. We found an original pedestrian bridge, and later on a house with modern stained glass windows.

Then we went back to the house and played some video games, at which I've been thoroughly dreadful. He's been playing them a lot more than me, maybe that's why...
