I'm Big Rich, I took, (And passed with hons.), a BA in creative writing which should alone give validity to my request to become a member.

First properly got into creative writing and fantasy with rpg video games such as Breath of Fire 3, and final fantsy 7, leading onto a change in my reading habits to pratchett etc, and the brilliant Thomas Covenant Series.

I write as many do as a form of escapeism yet also dealing in a roundabout way with social-economics, twisted forms of morality, and the vialibilty of ideas of childlike simplisity which shake the foundations of modern day idea of science, and yet most if not all of my work would fall under fantasy rather then science fiction, as I prefer to keep things relatively simple. Explaining the concept behind a entire magic system and it's effect, later ramifications on the world etc, is often much easier then just inventing a machine to do it, or at least more fun.
