At least a bit more colourful. What you are looking at is a wavlet analysis of a murine (mouse) heartbeat sequence. Programmed both analysis and display componets for this when I was in Medicine at University of Toronto. The colours indicate the relative signal strengths within particular frequency ranges at particular times.
