The Clock

The featured story for 17 May 2011 is brought to you by [Dark Side of the Moon] (author) and [Eyden13] (nominator).

"The clock in the bus terminal chimed seven times. Each tone brought a keen sense of nervousness to the pit of Gilbert's stomach. To Lilly they sounded like death knells at a funeral."

A sweet story which pulls at your heart, The Clock is well worth the read giving us a different, intimate slice of what we believe is a beautiful relationship. Travel back with The Clock and we promise you won't regret it.

Ebony and Ivory Collection

The featured story for 30 April 2011 is brought to you by [Evolution X] (author) and [Flisky] (nominator).

"I was one of the lucky ones, the radiation had changed my look entirely but my mind was still intact. People called us mutants, freaks. I guess we were. Most people were driven insane, their mind fractured from either the feeling of their bodies changing or the radiation just seemingly melting their mind."

This time, we are throwing you something a bit longer to read. The story, detailing the life of a mutant, his pet cat - or should we say panther - and his new friends, currently spans twenty-nine chapters and is still a work in progress. We hope to see more updates eventually, as this is a rather compelling read. Click away, but be warned: you might find yourself stuck in front of the monitor!

Through the Sky

The featured story for 31 March 2011 is brought to you by [Flisky] (author) and [The Black Cat in Your Path] (nominator).

"April 14th, 2013. The ships came with no warning."

My reading has been great this month. If there is any way to catch my attention with stories it is with spaceships, slavery, and total planet annihilation.

Foiled

The featured story for 15 March 2011 is brought to you by [wicked fae mage] and [Flisky] (nominator).

"Jick knew that it had come. The final day, his final day. He could feel it in his bones. He could feel the pangs of bloodlust, the vampire’s hunger. They were practically (though not possibly) killing him."

It's always good for this reader to see innovative ways to kill the undead. I enjoyed the ironic twist the author spins for us in this short but awesome piece. My only question is will there be more?
