[Duredhel], real name Juan Diego Dianderas a.k.a. JD, is a 19 year old illustrator and graphic designer. Whether he lives in the USA or in Peru depends on the time of the year.

    His hobbies are drawing, computer games, soccer, reading, writing and role-playing.
About two years ago, when Elfwood crashed, Duredhel discovered Elftown and with hobbies like the aforementioned it's no wonder he liked what he saw.
Being a game-master lots of his time here is spent in one of his Role Playing wikis. Further he likes looking at art and chatting with other members.

Realms of Lemire! What?! I can like my own wiki can't I? Kidding :), just thought I'd plug in some advertisement. Truth is Realms of Lemire and Realms of Lemire Arena are the wikis that consume most of my time, but I'm also very fond of [Adaman]'s awesome Noir-Griezelig for example, and lately [Asrun]'s Critique Board and [Evilmonk]'s Evilmonk vs. Elftown have become part of my usual tour 'round the town.

Favourite house

Much of my love for Elftown comes from the idea of being able to meet other RPG makers and fantasy artists online. Hence I usually frequent the houses of great artists such as [Sunny Silverunicorn], [Adaman], [TheRogue], [Asrun], amongst others. Even if their house layout was horrible (it is not) the art alone would make it worth it.

Critique/comments/suggestions on ET

I must say its truly become my online home, it's almost like a reflex, you turn on the computer and log into Elftown, don't even have to think about it. Haven't seen many decent new role-plays lately though, I want to think it’s more because the ones that are popping up aren't getting much exposure in ET, maybe that's something we need, more exposure for good role-plays.

   [Perplexity] is 33 years old, lives in Baltimore, Maryland, USA and is a dreamer, aspiring artist, couch potato, procrastinator and a lovely wife.


   [Evilmonk] is 28 years old, lives als in Baltimore, Maryland, USA and is, in his own words, a starving artist.


   So far, both people have a lot in common. [Perplexity] has many hobbies, including drawing. Which is also one of the main hobbies of [Evilmonk]. And they both found Elftown through Elfwood, with the intention to start a gallery here. But what they have most in common, is that they both found their life long partner here. Oh yes, [Evilmonk] and [Perplexity] are a happily married couple. Thus the reason of this joined interview.


   And it's always great to have such an artistic couple in our midst. [Evilmonk] is most known for his creation "Happy Hero", which can be read on The Official Elftown Hero. And [Perplexity] allows us, not to only watch her artistic talent from a distance, but to also see what happens in her daily life in the comic Artist's Block.

Favorite House: "[Mom] is someone I visit a lot. And I like it because it's just so nicely organized! She is always putting together great wikis that are entertaining and informative. She often has a lot of new artwork to share, so there is usually some new pretty picture to look at there, too. She is usually the first person I talk to in the morning, over our coffee. =)"


Critique/comments/suggestions on ET: "Even though I sometimes complain about a lot of the members here not being artists/writers, or even appearing that interested in either of those things or knowing what Elfwood is - I think this is the best online community I have participated in. It really allows everyone so much creativity and freedom. So many sub-communities of like-minded people have sprung up - some in the serious pursuit of art, others as silly as sofa forts - but it gives us all an opportunity to share so much. And for that I am very grateful that Elftown exists.
Besides, without those members we complain about, who would be fodder for things like Happy Hero: Issue #1 (yes, another shameless plug! You can't stop me! muahahahahaaaa!)."

Favorite Wiki: "I will pretty much go to any wiki that is funny or has some killer art or a really original contest. There are so many great places and folks have a lot of original ideas, it is just so hard to get to them all."


Favorite House: "I love to go to [Mom]'s house, as it is always so well organized and tidy, and she almost constantly has new artwork. I really like [TheRogue]'s house too. He's a great artist, but he is a better person, and we have lots of things in common. And of course I drop by my wife, [Perplexity]'s house (even though we live in the same one), because she always has funny pics, great art, and well...she's my wife!"


Critique/comments/suggestions on ET: "Elftown is a great society because of the folks who try to use it for what it is. A place to find new ways to get your creativity (no matter what it is) to flourish. I could be extremely critical about all the little morons running around, with their "ask me 5 questions, no matter how perverted and disgusting, and I have to answer them" crap. But ET is a world all its own. Just like the one we live in, its not perfect. It never will be. Some folks only reason to exist is to spoil it for others. Unlike the real world we have the advantage of a 'block member' link. =) I admire the people who don't judge this place by its worst examples. Who are here to better themselves and the ET site as a whole. [Hedda] and the gang do as great a job as can be expected from them and they keep it free. They realize that knowledge shouldn't cost anything, and I respect that and what they do for this place. People spend too much time thinking about what's bad and whining, instead of changing things for the better. If you want things to be better you have to 'walk it' not just wish it away. If wishes were horses we'd all be eating steak. lol"

     [Asrun] or just Ash, is from Ontario, Canada. She's 21 years old and she's an Asst. Office Specialist, a Framer and she also studies Illustration. [Asrun] also has a very interesting hobby: she likes to cook "odd" dishes, mostly Italian dishes and also desserts.

     Ash works a lot on her wikis. She's really interested in art, which is reflected in her house and her wikis (Ex: The Critique Board). She has also made a great job giving others tips on how to draw better. In fact she has her own tutorials: Asrun's Tutorials. The graphics and pictures at her house are all made by her. In her words: "I like to make my house as unique as I can".

     What Ash likes about fantasy is the imagination involved in it. And I think she takes us all to that imaginary world when we see one of her amazing drawings. Go and meet her unique art ;-)

Favorite Wiki: "I like the art contests (though I don't enter as much as I used to). I especially like the offical contests, because there are a lot of artists that normally don't showcase their work that enter. There are also a lot of art communities that I'm a part of.. Such as Lady of Lore's art archives and Best of best artists on Elftown"

Favorite House: "I really like [Leara]'s, [Sunrose]'s, [Delladreing]'s, [spincrus]'s, and [spiritee]'s, because they have really unique art/graphics up that separate their houses neatly. They are a joy to visit and the updates are always great fun."

Critique/comments/suggestions on ET: "I admire Elftowners for the amount of talents that we as a community possess. I think it's incredible that there are so many artists, writers, photographers all in one place that share a common interest. Everyone in Elftown is willing to help each other out and share their knowledge with the masses. You can't get that anywhere else on the net. ET isn't just about saying "oh.. I like it! +fav", it's about having others be honest with you and your work in order to help you master your skills."

Message to all the Elftowners: "My message is to just be yourself and to continue to strive to be the best that you can be. A lot of Elftowners ask me how is it that I can draw. There's no secret. I practice. A lot. I never used to be able to draw. I wasn't some child prodigy that you hear of on the news, and I'm still not. I get bad marks on my art, because it forces me to be better. Being able to see and accept your flaws will only make you a stronger, better person and I have Elftown to thank for a lot of that."
