I downloaded "Cronocrimenes" the other day, noticed that it's by Nacho Vigalondo and remembered this excellent short movie by him. So now I share it with my favorite people in the world (well, some of them, at least). Do yourselves a favor and watch it.

EDIT: [Mirime] gave me advice and help with the poem (as we all know, poetry isn't my strongest suit). Many thanks to her! :D

You know what this year has been. You know all the fucked up things, but for my family and friends of my family. Now add to that that one of the best friends of my mother, who she has known for years, yesterday had a brain/heart (whatever it is called... cardiovascular?) accident and is in therapy. The medics already told her husband that he shouldn't have any hopes that she'll get out of it.

It just doesn't get any better, does it?

Ok, I'm not very good at this, I'm actually getting answers :P

So... should I stay or should I go?
Stay

Will the elftowners I love come visit me soon?
No
(You bastards!)

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
10
(Eh? 10 what?)

Is there any chance that aliens will take over the world today?
No

And tomorrow?
Too Dark
(Uh, an eclipse must be coming. Be careful, people)

Will the aliens give me Belgium to rule when they take over the world?
Next week

Excellent! Everything goes according to the plan :)

The Bathtub Test

During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director "How do you determine whether or not a patient should be institutionalized?"
'Well,' said the Director, 'we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a
teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub.'

Which one would you use?

Well, I've never been a Coldplay fan, but this was a surprise. They not only copy Lennon, apparently.

I'm more a fan of writers than of artists. In fact, there's only one or two artista that may make me buy a book that I can think of. One of the is Chris Bachalo, with his peculiar style.
Because Mir and Silvie asked for it, one of Bachalo's more interesting (in my opinion, at least) works: Steampunk.
http://rapidshare.com/files/150902662/Steampunk.rar

It's complete, 12 episodes.

Also, to read it you have to use Comic Book Reader. I forgot to include it, but you can download it pretty easily from the Internet.

Yer welcome ;)

It may be lupus this time...

Lately I've been downloading a few old tv series, mostly English ones (thanks again, Hedda!). So I've been watching "Fawlty Towers", "Extras", "Black Books" and a couple more.
Between those I downloaded without really knowing them, there was a sketch program that I really got into. I've only seen 5 episodes so far, but it's a great show. The name is "A little bit of Fry and Laurie".
NOw to the interesting part: the Laurie in the title is Hugh Laurie, worldwide known these days as Dr. House. And since you, you and you are big fans, you may want to check out the pilot episode of "Little Bit of Fry and Laurie" and see what the guy was doing (with excellence) before fighting about the idea that somebody may, actually, have lupus.

3 Rapidshare links as direct download (no need to wait between them), download them all and unrar. It's an avi file and I included the subtitles in English in case you feel like having them.

Part of the reasons why I was gone for a while is that I took my first vacation in 2 years and a half (vacation going somewhere, I mean, not just stayin at home). Not to mention that I was on a plane for the first time in 9 years.

I spent last weekend and a couple week days here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bariloche
http://www.bariloche.com/english/index.asp

I walked through forests, went to mountains, ate yummy things, was disconnected from the workd and was totally antisocial (I went there completely alone). Also, I took lots of pictures, will upload some later.

(The other reasons being mostly work, Internet problems and my being busy with other Internet stuff when it worked right).

It's piracy time. This time, some comics that I think [Mirime] will find interesting (if she hasn't read them yet), but that should also interest any other Firefly/Serenity fan out there.

Enjoy and give me things as reward (hugs, kisses, flowers and cake accepted).

Well, since people were complaining (not without reason) that it was too hard to come up with ideas without having listened to the song, here's a guitar and voice version of it (Fran sings, I play). The second mic was very low and the speech is almost imposible to hear, but it's there. It the thing that sounds like a radio preacher on the backgroud :P

<URL:stuff/Living%20The%20End.mp3>

So far Mir and iippo's ideas have good chances.

IMPORTANT

I need your help. And yours. And yours. Really, if you don't help me with this it's that you don't love me (I know, emotional blackmail is so last century, but bear with me).

As you may be aware of, I have an almost band, that right now is in the middle of either kicking off the other guitar player or recording a few songs in the studio. Either one.
In any case, there's this song that we've been playing since pretty much forever because it comes from the previous band I had with Fran. And I was getting bored with it, especially because it's pretty mechanic to play. So I decided to start doing a little speech while he sings the chorus. And so far I've been improvising it. But that gets old soon and I'd prefer it to be an actual quote that is somehow related to the song.
So, if you people (who are supposed to love me, I should add) can help me giving me ideas of poems or quotes that could be used, that would be great. I can adapt whatever you send me. The total spech time must be around the 30 seconds and is said behind the actual singing. It can be a poem or something by any author, famous or not, doesn't have to be something new and original.
The song is in English and here are the lyrics with the parts between the speech would go in bold (NOTE: the lyrics have mistakes. But they were written by FRan and he refuses to change them so there's nothing we can do about that):

Living the end, of this country
Leaving the Hope Place, and resigning us
The only unity feeling is the lack of such feeling
When someone doesn't resist, it dies
When something doesn't resist, it dies
It's very sad, to presence
The end of the happiness
It's hard too much, to decide
Left our day by day
The salted water of sweet sea, will cover this country's territory
Where's government when people cry?
We are living the end
End,
Living the end
Feeling the death
Living the end
End
Living the end
Feeling the death
Living the end

I want refuge, desperately
I want some answers, desperately
I want to find someone who hears me
I want refuge and not the end

All and any help will be welcomed. Thanks.
