Ok, I'm copy-pasting this from the Town RP page:
At least in the summer. That was when the fog made the inhabitants of that little valley as blind as moles. In the winter they were coated over with ice and at least three feet of snow, which was often accompanied by a blizzard that lasts from the first week of January to the last week of February. All year-round, the town's more cynical inhabitants would find the place best described as "a cold, wet, miserable valley with no actual lake and a mock lighthouse in the park". Although, even they would admit that the spring and fall were, by far, the most pleasant seasons to spend in Dry Lake. After the blizzard and fog, who would not gladly welcome the month long thunderstorms and sheets of sleet?
There is no lake, and nothing is dry.

Dude, I live in an itty-bitty town with an average of two houses per block. It has a community building with a large garage that houses a firetruck, a post-office that used to be a bank, and a corner store. That's it.
The closest town is a lot bigger, but half of the businesses are auto shops, half of the restaurants are Mexican food, and there is a church on practically every non-residentia

My town has one cop and a volunteer fire department that is seriously needing people... I highly doubt the population is above seven hundred. (And that being generous.)

2016-09-25 [ancienteye]: I told my mom about all this because I literally screamed with joy that you agree that the gravestones are weirdly-placed and she wants to add that one of the cops that still live here is actually the sheriff, so this town is technically under his jurisdiction. Also, apparently our volunteer fire department is the highest ranked in the area.
2016-09-25 [Kbird]: That's good to know. Our cop is the Marshall, his name is Bob. Our last cop was arrested for selling guns to his brother-in-law who just got out of prison for assault with a deadly weapon.
