“And in three, two, one...” Ezekiel snapped his fingers, and both his and Bryant’s collars fell to the ground, an instant later deadly therum liquid poured out and pooled onto the floor. Ezekiel rubbed his neck where the collar had been, and rotated his neck enjoying the fact that he’d gotten the collars off finally. “That feels better,” he said as an audible snapping noise erupted from his stiff neck.
Bryant smiled as he rubbed the sore spots on his neck where he had been receiving the torture treatment earlier "I second that!" he said happily before lifting Fiona into his arms again, she had remained unconscious ever since they escaped their cells, and now he was beginning to worry "lets get moving"
“You wanna know something funny?” Ezekiel said as he opened long forgotten panels and passages with his ‘talent’ “I’ve been scanning ship records, passenger compliments, and the tiger’s name hasn’t appeared on the list of any of them. Now at first I thought he’d be using an alias, so I hacked the cameras but I don’t see his face getting on any of the ships listed to leave today. So he either he figured out how be a body snatcher or he didn’t get on his flight,” Ezekiel said as he ducked below a support beam. “Fiona’s been unconscious for a while, and I’m starting to worry. Richard would be the best person to tell us what’s wrong with her, maybe we could find him too?”
"sounds like a plan" Bryant agreed "I'm also worried who else those bats nabbed" he added as they moved through the passageway "once we've gotten someplace safe and Fiona's been taken care of, I'm going to do some recon and see what's happened while we were 'detained'"
"Good plan bro, but we need to find a safe place where I can guard Fiona while you do that!" Ezekiel explained as he opened another passageway. "There's an old service corridor that isn't too far from here, we can follow it to a junction point and we should be safe there while you do your thing."
Bryant nodded in agreement "the sooner we get Fiona someplace safe, the sooner we can find out if those bastards got to anyone else" he said calmly as he followed Ezekiel through the old passageway.
"And here we are, our temporary home away from home until we figure out our next move." Ezekiel said as he opened a panel to reveal a small 5 by 7 foot void within a wall. Turning to his borther Ezekiel gestured for Bryant to hand him Fiona, "We should be fine here until you're done your recon, but be quick, I'd rather not be a sitting target for longer than I have to be, especially with an unconscious fruit bat to worry about," Ezekiel said as he took Fiona carefully in his arms. He placed her in a corner of the small space in a position he hoped would be comfortable should she regain consciousness. "Good hunting bro."
"let's just hope our hunt fares better then those bats'" Bryant replied before vanishing in a gust of wind, heading off for the Sanguine and, hopfully, the rest of the crew.
In a seeming trance, there were a few moments of odd silence, before finally Loyd spoke, “I’m not sure that smacking them around would be such a good idea,” Loyd said as he looked closely at the monitors. Then, with a few key strokes and motions on the holographic panels, he zoomed in on the group of bats as they had ensnared both Ezekiel and Bryant. “They call themselves “The Blood Pack,” and they are actually a fairly well trained and well funded organization. Allow me to point out the collar in the hand of the female bat,” Loyd said as he pointed to the round shape in the hand of the female approaching the two cheetahs. “Those collars are used by the alliance to coerce information out of detainees who don’t co-operate by injecting a very painful toxin into the blood stream.”
“And how exactly do you know all of this?” Fen asked, “You don’t seem to be all that concerned with the safety of your boys in light of all of this information,” Fen quickly noted. Standing with his arms crossed he leaned back as if to scrutinize Loyd for his callousness.
“Bryant and Ezekiel are capable of handling themselves,” Loyd pointed out matter-of-fact
, “As for this little band of flyers, their leaders name is Quinn, and he has a serious vendetta against the alliance.” Loyd said as he pulled up a picture of Quinn. The picture, however, portrayed an oddly sophisticated bat for what was happening in the station at the time. “Who was he before?” Fen asked bluntly, as if to ask the question everyone else was thinking. “He used to be a high ranking officer for Liam’s forces, at least he was before we caught him and he gave us the information on key assets and personnel within Liam’s ranks. He was let go as per the conditions set forth at the time, and he lay low for fear of what would happen if Liam found out. If we want our friends back, Quinn is the one we need to find.” Loyd stated simply.
