Yami sat outside of the high school, she and her friends were seniors this year. She sat, waiting for her best friend Yuki. She loved him so much, but she was so afraid that fate would take him from her. Everyone she loved died, and she loved him too much to tell him that she did. She held a comb, brush and hair tie in her hair to braid Yuki's beautiful red hair.

There she sat,this is my chance.As I stroll forward my right eye begins to ache,it eases shut until I stand directly behind Yami,I force my eye to reopen gazing upon her with every intention to reveal my feelings. This was the day. I look her over once more taking it all in, before I make my move. I brushed my hair to the side a bit as the wind picked up. Then took a seat directly next to her and turned and smiled to her "Morning"

"Good Morning Yuki," Yami replied to him as she always did, never a smile, just an emotionless face. It seemed the only emotion she ever showed was worry. "Are you ready for me to braid your hair?" She held up her brush, comb and hair tie.

I took a deep breath and thought for a moment,it would be best if I waited for a bit the words haven't quite formed yet. "Go ahead,I've been looking forward to it." I turned myself away from her and shut my right eye again it still seemed to hurt.

Yami placed a leg on either side of him and pulled herself close, her stamch and chest against his back. She slowly started to brush though his hair gently, her fingers running smoothly through the brushed hair.

Yuki's cell phone buzzed from a text message. It was his mother; it read: Yuki, you have a procedure on your eye today at 4 so be sure you tell your friend who worries too much that you're going to your grandma's after school today. Love, Mom.

Message Deleted I sighed a bit and leaned back a bit but not enough to obstruct Yami's movement "looks like I'm visiting Grandma after school today.."

Yami nodded slightly. "I figured it would be soon, you seemed to go to your grandmother's about the same time every month...' She finished his hair and pulled him gently back against her. Her arms wrapped around his ribs, her chin rested gently on his shoulder. She sighed softly. every touch that Yami ever used on Yuki was gentle and soft as if she was afraid of hurting him, as if he were a glass doll.

Her eyes met with mine,I gazed deep into them.Swallowed by their sadness. I took a deep breath."you know...."I choked a bit and a tear came to my left eye.The words wouldn't come out.

Yami gasped softly, her hand rose up and cupped his cheek tenderly. "Yuki! What's wrong? Are you hurt?" Her face melted from expressionless to worry. She bit her lower lip and tenderly rubbed his cheek with her thumb.

"I want..." I smiled tears still flowing"I want you..."I took a deep breath "I want to make you..smile.." I started to grow warm with embarrassment but there was no going back now this was it "I...love you."

Yami's pale skin turned red very slowly. "Yuki...I..." She couldn't find the words to say, her heart had jumped into her throat and was choking her words. "I don't want you to-....I'm afriad you'll-....Yuki..."

I stopped for a moment and looked away,I want her to be able to say what she's thinking I don't want to come on to strong.

"Yuki...I-I love you too...but...everyone I love dies... I don't want to lose you too, you're-you're all I have left, just you..." Yami's arms wrapped tight around him, her face burried between his shoulder blades in his back. "I don't want to lose you..."

"if..you love me...and have loved me for this long....Then why aren't I gone?" I sighed,I didn't think about this outcome."I'll be here for you no matter what ok?" I turned and wrapped my arms around her and tried to cheer her up.

Yami clung to him, hugging him tightly to her form. "You promise?" She sniffled softly, she'd begun to cry as well. Her form trembles in his arms, her face burried in his neck

I took a deep breath and whispered softly in her ear "So long as I'm here for you...you can smile.." It exhaled and then spoke once more " You were by my side back then, you know,You were always, always, always right next to me.Even if you lose me, I'll come you back.I will never leave you."

"Yuki." Yami held him tight, nuzzling his neck softly, her long balck hair surrounding her. "I love you Yuki, for as long as I can remember I've loved you so much..." she sobbed softly. "so much...."

I tightened my grip and took a deep breath,her pleasant smell drifting past my nose. I closed my eyes and I began to hum a calm melody.

Yami sniffles softly as she calms down. She jumps as the school bell rings. "T-Time for class..." She murmurs as she unwillingly pries her self from his loving embrace

I leaned in and wiped the moisture away from her face,Drying her tears and leaned in giving her a kiss. I pulled away and slung my bag over my shoulder holding it by the top handle. "I'll walk you..."

Yami grabbed his shoulder gently and stood in front of him, her arms slid around his neck. Her eyes slowly closed as her lips pressed to his, kissing him passionately

My heart began to pound as she pressed against me I could taste her as she kissed me and it was something that I had longed for. I had her now,she is mine and I love it.....I love her.

Yami pressed her entire body against him, blushing brightly. Her fingers played with the tip of his long braid.

I exhaled and opened my eyes,pulling away slowly,though I longed for this moment,but it couldn't last any longer if I miss class I'd never leave his house again "we can't be late..." I grabbed her hand gently and started towards class

Yami followed with him, her fingers laced in his. She leaned her head on his shoulder and sighed in content. "Yuki..." She whispered softly

"yes..?"I replied equally quiet,holding the mood steady,this was nice.

"Nothing." She looked at him, a very small hint of a smile on her lips, she looked as though she'd forgotten how to smile.

I returned the smile with a hug,as we drew nearer to her class. "I love you.."

Yami hugged him back "I love you, Yuki, with all my heart." She kissed his cheek softly

"I'll see you after class." I rushed off but turned to smile and wave back. I had to start my day with math,normally this would bother me but I don't think anything could ruin this day.

She went to her english class and did her work, wishing he did not have to go to his grandmother's house today. She wanted to spend more time with him

I tapped my pencil on my desk and day dreamed of her,She was beautiful,class would end soon.

Yami ran to his class after her own, nearly tripping as she did

I opened the door to have Yami plow into me knocking me over I lay looking up at her dazed and confused.

Yami whimpered. "I'm so sorry Yuki! Are you ok?" She helped him up and whined softly

"never been better in my life." I said with a bit of a cough.

Yami whined softly. "I'm sorry..."

"don't be" the view was nice,Something I could get used to.

Yami kissed his cheek softly, nuzzling it gently. "But I still am..."
