Absent
======
Spring is blooming
Everwhere but in my heart
Where winters torrent
Still rages
Where storms whip up
And whip hard
This fragile little part of me
Threatens to drown in a bruised and battered sea
Frenzies of waves splash and crash
Seemingly endlessly
How i long for a summer feeling
Of calm, of warmth, of recovery
A panace-a

Held
=====
Liquid floods my brain
A safety net
A stasis of emotions
'stead of hitting the floor
The volumes turned down
But it still dances
Under my skin
In the backround
In the shadows
Harsh and revengeful.

Itch
=====
I wanted to capture the sun
To face the dawn
Filled with a sense of warmth
Renew me with its rays
Dance around in its light
Cauterize all my wounds
Burn away all my pain
Alas i could not reach
With my crippled soul
So i stare with longing into the sky
Until the sun leaves me once again
And i shiver in the cold of twilight.

Chance
======
A glimmer of light passed by my prison
Tears ran down steel
Dust caught in my throat
I'll never forget that one beautiful tragic moment.

Endure
=======
Brave the flames
The lonely nights
The edge

The tragedies and the waking with dread
The depths of darkness
You find within

Draining people to lessen a pain
You cant even get near
Your veins are coursing with shame and fear

Chained to our inner hurricane

My soul has been smashed
through a pane of glass
im twisting, turning
contorting
trying to avoid the splinters and jagged edges
my emotions swirling and thick through the tormenting shards
just to survive this abrasive and lacerating existence

Tangled
=======
When i cut, slash
I'm making progress
Hurting the beast inside me
And i'm proud
Of my achievement scars
And for just a while
Its numb
And i'm peacefu
When it wears off
I dread its retaliation.

Muse
=====

My muse seems to have gone on holiday
Took one look at the sun, packed its suitcase and went away
I cant say i blame it, everyone needs a rest
It just means i write less-t !

Slipped
=======

Its just me
Walking soaked through the rain
Every step
Im being pushed along
Washing down
Drowning in torrents of pain
Im slipping again
Ripples of the black wave underfoot threaten
Caught up in the current of my shame
Even the sky
Where hopes and dreams fly
Is grey and dismal and without end
No bird in flight
No stars in sight
Who will save me now?

Conditions
=========
Tears form in my eyes
As changes in the seasons
And stormy skies
Mirror the changes in emotions in me
Lightning in my skull
Rain in my eyes
Hurricanes in my soul
Clouds in my heart
Weathered, I stand.

The Performer
===========
I am out on stage

Performing what i must

So mechanical i look clumsy

Playing to the audience

In a world breathing down my neck

All my encores of despair you dont see

No applause follows.

Affair
=====
My heart beats in contridiction
To how dead i feel
I lose the boundaries
Between whats wrong or real
Courting Lord and Lady Death
With every thought and every breath
So continues our grim affair
Always enticing me further into their lair.

Solstice
=======
The sun didst rise
And present to us
Its blessing
The celebration was vast
As the goddess watched over us
And i knew i'd come too far
To give up now.

The Visit
========
Im hoping my muse will visit today
Chase away my blank screen
And my empty page.

The cups of half-drunk tea - my fortress
The tick-tock hours
Meandering radio.

The wind has picked up
And the rain wont stop.

I hope it doesnt stay away
Just because of the changing seasons-
Almost the end of the year
It warm and snug inside here.

Yes - Im hoping my muse will visit today.

Im still dying, but its forcing me to breathe
ragged gasps in milligrammes
Sore gritty eyes
Paralysed limbs in motion.

Peas are the road to evil
They line it all the way to its black heart
Their foul and putrid
Bane of our existance
Vive la resistance
They lie in the freezer
waiting, biding their time
They creep onto your plate
The veg of darkness!

Autumn
======
Sitting on the bus to work
Through the autumn countryside
The late october sunshine -
One last gift from the goddess before her winter sleep
The evergreens keep our faith
Keep our hearts light
She will rise again
And grant us bounteous spring.

One foot in front of the other
One more second
One more hour
Yet one more breath
And another step along.

No peace
Just pieces of the puzzle
Mishapen and wrong
One more fragmented verse
In my broken song.

I only remember parts of the tune
Flickering and elusive
As the path before me
So i just keep putting

My Morning Cocktail
---------------------
Two Ibuprofen (for the tooth i had out)
One Cipralex (Anti-depressant)
One Multivitamin with iron
One Vitamin B Complex (apparently im lacking in it)
I suppose it could be worse.
It could be Vodka Martini
