2004-12-21 [layna]: I had a question and was hoping someone on here could help. I know it is off topic, but has anyone tried to house snakes and iguanas together? I have two ball pythons, and I am hoping to soon spread my collection into iguanas, so I thought that since iguanas usually like to perch and pythons prefer the ground better (or, at least mine do), that putting them in the same cage wouldn't be a problem. I can't seem to find any information on the internet, however, so what do you think?

2004-12-24 [Zauberin]: thats true... but if your iguana got really big, and were bigger than the snakes, the roles may be reversed. iguanas are primarily herbivores, but i think they'll attack and eat small critters now and then... who knows. it just sounds like an accident waiting to happen anyway

I provided a covered water bowl, and she does not use it for soaking, i thought maybe she was dehydrated, but i soaked her last time she went blue, and rubbed her down with some of that shed-assisting oil, and she still shed in pieces... any advice?

2006-01-22 [Nyaah*]: hm weird..is it always 80%? well yea the books says it should be between 60 and 80% that should be ok actually... but... i made the experience that its not that good to have such a high humidity. its between 40and 60% in my tank, and im spraying every other day and if one of my balls are shedding i spray more often like 2 times the day... but ther also can be other things... it might be to cold or to wartm in the tank. there should be places where its about 22°C and there should be warmer places about 30-33°C so the ball can choose the tempereture! just check if all these things are ok and if they are.. she might be sick?! maybe have a look in the internet abou ball sicknesses!?

2006-04-22 [The Monochrome Rainbow]: humidity in the tank ranges from 45-55% and temp. ranges from (Fahrenheit) 70 to 85. Every time she is about to shed, i soak her for 10-15 minutes. I can find no symptoms of illnesss, she has a healthy appetite, and no other problems. She does not use her water dish for soaking, though it is sheltered from light), she still gets the dents in here eye scales that mean she is dehydrated, but i can't get her to drink any water (would that help?) I Talked to a python owner at the pet shop, and he said that when she is ready to shed, take out her other hiding spots, so she only has a humid or wet one. Do you think that would help?

I heard a story, it was like from the 60s or further back, about this man who was in the Army, flying around the Congo in search of enemy troops in a helicopter. And he said as he and a few other people were flying over these swamps they saw a 25 foot anaconda! Or something like that. They even had a picture and that thing was absolutely massive! Maybe it was about 30 foot...can't remember much though.
