Issaqueena Falls - Overview
Overall shot of Issaqueena Falls in Oconee County, South Carolina from near the base of the main falls. Shot in late summer.

The Panian Stage - Fairy Opera
Hendersonville, NC. I spent some time there looking at studio possibilites and the place I was living was the remains of the original farm in the area. There was an amazing number of mushrooms and fungi that appeared. This group, part of a very large ring, struck me both because of the very obvious male symbology, but also the way the fully opened caps made perfect fairy stages. The Panian refers to the god Pan. Fertility, god of flocks and fields.

Whiteside Solstice
Looking out across toward Brevard, NC and the piedmont from the edge of Whiteside Mountain. The tower of stone on the left is the same tower in the other shots of this group.
Time is almost sunset on the winter solstice.
Directly below me is one of the headwaters of the Chatooga River. About 1200 feet down or so.

just for fun, an assembled panorama shot from Waylah Bald, western North Carolina
no where near perfect, but as I said, just for fun. Spring is like that.

A Florish of Shrooms
After some fair rains, the old pasture was filled with these. I counted over 100 separate clusters of the rough caps. The dof was unfortunatly pulled down a bit as I was shooting during a rainstorm and the light was a bit dim. Still, I think it came out pretty well.
