Slowly, hesitantly, as if in a dream, the woman lifted her hand. Her fingers moved of their own accord to trace the line of his jaw gently, oh so gently, finger pads tingling with the contact as their eyes locked.
She then said something that was almost a whisper on the wind, barely able to say it in the silence.
“I’ve wanted to do that for so long...”



" Anna..." he started, but she stilled his words with a gentle finger against the fullness of his lips.

"Please..." she whispered "don't say anything, I want to remeber this as it is, to hold this moment forever in my heart, my one perfect moment."

A single tear glistened upon his cheek, as he turned and tenderly kissed the icy coolness of her palm.

"I love you..." she whispered " Now and forever"

"Now and forever" he promised in return, looking away lest she see the depth of his pain.

She then smiled, a bright, beautiful, loving smile that shimmered with the intensity of their love, even as her ethereal form began to slowly fade away. It was time to move on, heaven awaited.
