Name Meaning: Naraku is pretty easy to decipher. It literally means "hell" but the name onigumo however is tricky. The first kanji is "oni" and that means ogre or demon. But if oni is used as a suffix then it could mean fiend. "Gumo" however easily translates to spider, which I'm sure we know why.

Information: Naraku was an ex-bandit named Onigumo, a human. When he came upon the priestess, Kikyou, she cared for him and this caused him to lust after Kikyou. He hated the fact that he could not move from the burns on his body so he summoned demons who devoured his body causing him to become part of Naraku, a half-demon. The only problem is, Naraku hates Kikyou but cannot kill her because onigumo is still inside of him.

Kit's Comment: Okay, you might think I'm crazy for adding Naraku here, but you must admit, he can be very good looking.
