Rules Taken and Modified Slightly from Terms and Conditions




A Note: These terms don't need to be read IF you have common sense and know what is proper etiquette in a conversation.
Definition of Etiquette: the rules and conventions governing correct or polite behavior in society in general or in a particular social or professional group or situation.
That being said, I think those of you who DO have common sense and are intelligent enough to understand these terms should read them anyway (as they are quite amusing and will provide a good laugh).

1. I will not respond to one or two word messages such as "hi" or "hey there". I actually have a life.
And if you're going to message me, at least tell me a little about yourself! Make it decent and don't ask if I have hotmail or yahoo in the first message! How ridiculous!
(Those of you who already have a relation with me are allowed to break this rule)


2. I will not respond to chain messages. I'm not that gullible (it's a shame you are). They are annoying and childish. And I WILL report you! (see: chain messages, an official elftown page)


3. I will not respond to harassment. That will just get you reported.


4. I will not respond to chat-up lines or sexual offers. I'm already taken... by common sense... and you don't stand a chance.
I'm also MARRIED and I'm sure my husband (and his shotgun), will not appreciate you trying to "pick me up" (Yes, that is a threat, deal with it).


5. I will not respond to the transmittal of any information that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, pornographic, libelous, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, hateful, or racially, sexually, ethnically or otherwise objectionable.


6. I will not respond to messages that are: typed in all capitals (or like this 'hEy tHeRe gIrL!'), have a lack of punctuation, and contain abbreviations of short words (such as 'how r u?' or 'want 2 join?' or 'this is 4 u' or anything like that; I find that really annoying and pointless; abbreviations of longer words are ok, such as 'lol', 'brb', and 'omg' - 'asl' however is not okay. It's both pointless and irritating. Especially in the first message). I'd much rather hold a conversation with someone who is educated and has some degree of intelligence and maturity.


7. Do not send me messages asking me to vote for you in any contest. I will vote for the person I feel is most deserving of first place. And you telling me to vote for you will make me feel that you do not deserve to win. Begging for votes is pathetic. You may send me a link to the contest and ask me to vote, but do not tell me whom to vote for. Also, do not send me a message asking me to vote in your poll. That is pathetic and stupid. If you want me to vote in your poll and simply have to send me a message because you can't resist, at least tell me what the poll is about and why you made it. That is much more sensible than just running around Elftown telling people to vote in your poll.


8. Do not contact me if you are offended by any of these rules. If you are, tough.


9. Do not contact me if you feel the uncontrollable desire to defend yourself against any of the above points. Don't waste my time. Go tell someone who cares.


10. Do not contact me if you think I'm a bitch and think I need educating in this fact.
I really just don't care what you think.
