HSWW Part 10

The Ministry of Magic

Draco, Pansy and Goyle stood across the street and looked up at the Ministry of Magic. "Well this is it then, I guess." Draco muttered.

"Guess so." Pansy replied, a sudden flash of fear going through her, "You go in and Goyle and I'll follow." She patted Draco on the shoulder, "Good luck."

Goyle nodded "Ok I'll go in first." he said as he walked through the door to the Ministry.

"No you idiot get back!" Pansy whispered, pulling him back onto the sidewalk and ducking down behind a bush before a group of wizards saw them. She turned to Draco, "Alright, you'd better get in there fast, we'll be right behind you."

"Right then." Draco muttered, glancing over the bush and looking for more workers before he ran across the street and up to the front doors. He got there safely and motioned for Pansy and Goyle, who joined him a minute later. "Well, time to go." He sighed and the three went inside the Ministry.

The three of them looked around inside for a minute, "Now I think that he's on the fifth floor." Draco muttered, "We'll all get on the elevator and when I find his office, you two wait outside and steal the hairs from the first three people you see. Then go find Weasley and meet me back at the office."

"Right then." Pansy began, but then stared blankly ahead, "Where's Weasley's office?"

Draco stopped to think for a minute, "Fourth floor." He mumbled after a while. The three of them got onto the elevator and headed towards the 5th floor.

"Well even now we've gotten farther than I thought we would." Draco muttered. He began to say something else when the door opened onto the 4th floor. "Oh God." He groaned as he saw his father walking down the hallway.

Pansy stared blankly ahead of her. "Now what was that you were saying about us getting far in this?" She glanced at Goyle, who had the same look of shock on his face that she and Draco had. "So what should we do?"

At that time Lucius hear the voices behind him and looked into the open elevator. "Draco? What-"

"Well this worked out well." Pansy rolled her eyes.

Draco gave a nervous smile in his father's direction, "Alright change of plan." He muttered to Goyle and Pansy, trying to hide the little bit of panic that he could hear in his voice, "I'll deal with him, you go find Weasley and three others on this floor and meet me back at the elevator when you're done."

Goyle noddded and waved at Lucius "Hello Mr. Malfoy!" he called to Lucius over Draco's shoulder and nodded walking up to Lucius "Yeah I'm here 'cause my father is on trial as you know." He nodded solemly "I was just off to go support him." he smiled and walked off, grabbing Pansy's arm and pulling her off of the elevator before Lucius could question him.

Draco gulped as they all got off of the elevator and Draco was left alone with his father. "Yeah best of luck on that trial!" Draco growled at Goyle as he and Pansy turned the corner.

Lucius looked at Draco. "You wouldn't be hiding something from me, would you, son?"

Draco scoffed, "Of course not. Goyle just got the news about his father's trial date and he wanted to go."

Lucius gave his Draco a look of disbaleaf. "Alright, off you go" And he tapped his cane releasing him though he planned on keeping a close watch on him.

Draco began to walk away, then realized that this hadn't given Pansy and Goyle enough time to find the hairs. He sighed, "Why not kill two birds with one stone?" He thought to himself, "I suppose he might know something about the magic situation." He turned to Lucius, "Actually, there is one more thing."
