The sceince rooms contain every geeks dream, a massive erray of chemicals. They're stocked with a surprising amount of chemicals for such a shabby looking school. They have some suspicious "fake" organs on show in some cabinets, some thick rubber bands and some weights for physics. With half a brain you could think of some way to take out zombies here, but let someone with a fast mind in here and they'll run riot.
Sacha slipped into the room and closed the door behind her, breathing a deep sigh of releif as to having escaped the hordes. Of course, now she smelled like a zombie, but it could be worse, she reasoned. She slumped down against the door for a moment, biting her lip and trying not to cry. She was scared; freaked out of her mind. Now that she was alone, she didn't have to look brave, so she didn't bother trying. "Oh, fuck it," She said, finally regaining her composure. She got up and looked around the room. The windows were locked and barred, as usual, so there was no worries of getting in or getting out of them. She opened the organ display and took the heart, holding it in the palm of her hand for a minute before stashing it in the depths of her trenchcoat. She grabbed several other organs as well, without any real plan in mind. She'd grab a geek on the way back, get him to do something constructive with all these chemicals. She rifled through them, hoping to find some of them that she knew.
Max Burst into the sience room with a loud bang "THERE YOU ARE!" She exclaimed. She was toting an axe and cimitar. I ynked some stuff from the history room." She laid the dyal hndeled axe on the table and pulled the bracers from her bag. "Here, they can't bite you threw these. The survival guide dictates that the most comon of zombie bites happen on the hands and forearms."
"MAX!"
Sacha ran to her and glomped her without regard to any of the sharp metal things she was handling. She was also sharply aware of how Max was not fond of being touched or hugged, but she didn't care. "Fuck, I thought you'd been bitten or some shit! Fuckin' scared out of my mind here, you bitch!"
"Sorry."
Max said "I somehow lost you from the clock tower. You forget your like a foot taller thn me." She reproduced the things she'd stolen "Here. I saw the axe asnd thought of you."
"Aww, you." She let go of Max and took the axe, admiring it fondly. "I used to dream of this day." She rubbed the side of the blade against her cheek lovingly. "Now sweetie's gonna chop through some zombie students like we always talk about." She hefted it happily and set it back on the table to grab the gauntlets. "How do you know these'll hold up? For all we know, they're made of tin, or too old to still be functional."
Max whcked her hand soundly against one fo the desks. "That held up so I'm guessing a zombie's bite won't penetrate.... Besides, tehy look cool."
"Good enough for me!"
Sacha grinned wickedly, strapping them on. She hefted the big axe over her shoulder. "Well, I got what I could from here, shall we on to more bloody matters?"
There was a loud crash from inside the closet and a thin and gangly looking boy fell through the doorway, along with an entire shelf of empty test tubes and beakers. He yelped as the glass shattered around him, shielding his eyes. He grabbed up the one beaker that hadn't shattered and sprung to his feet, holding it in front of him like a weapon. "You won't take me alive!!!" He shouted shakilly, his eyes were shut tight, not wanting to see the horrific monsters that we undoubtablly closing in around him.
Max rised her sword infront of her. She'd accidently bitten her tongue in suprise nd squeltched her yelp of pain.
"Fuckin' A!"
Sacha shrieked, almost dropping the damn axe on her foot. "Who th'fuck are you?!"
Slowly he opened his eyes, as soon as he heard a human voice that is. His eyes shot wide as he looked at Sacha. "Oh! Ummmmmmm....hi
!" He blushed profusely and continued to stammer as he spoke. "My name is Kltpzyxmy, but you can call me Fes...since everyone else does..." He looked at Sacha's axe and dropped the beaker next to his foot. "Eep!" He yelped and hopped up and down
"It's the forigne exchnge student." Max groaned "Comeon, he's zombie food."
"How long have you been in there?!" Sacha asked, still freaked out. "I've been ransacking the damn lab for fifteen minutes now!" Her grip on the axehandle tightened as she looked down at him, straightening even further so that she towered over him. "Are you a nerd? Do you know how to use these fuckin' chemicals at all?"
"Ummmm....I know how to use a shotgun, doesh that help?" Fes aske dher, still incrediblly astonished by the tall woman's beauty. "I'm not much of a nerd...I've just been outcasted for being how you say, Foreign?"
"It only helps if you actualy have a shotgun." Max said "How does someone your age learn to use a shotgun by the way? Third world country? Where you part of some sort of gorilla resistance?" Max was being sparcly sarcastic. She wanted to get moving to an area of the school they could fortify. possibly steal some food before the dumber students got the idea.
"Yesh. I am from third world country. Everyone knows how to use shotgun." Fes declared proudly. HE loved his country!
"Fat lot of good it does here," Sacha scorned. "I left all of my weaponry in my other Columbine coat." She leaned down and stared him in the face, her face scrunched up suspiciously. "Where're you from, anyway? Your accent's funny."
"Themescara." Max scoffed.
"A magical far away place called Gildur!" Fes stated with a wide smile. "Oh it ish wonderful!"
"Never heard of it," Sacha said bluntly. "What is that, in Africa or somethin'? Cause I'm totally cool with that." She stood up straight, the axe leaned against one shoulder. "I got respect for African guerrillas." She pounded her fist against her chest and threw up the peace sign.
"It ish in Eastern Europe..." Fes. said quietly, not really wanting to upset such a statuesque(sp?) beauty.
"BORING!" Max said all too loudly "Who cares, there are zombies in the school. We have to fortify a room and find some food or something. Before the mongrel hords out there get the same idea.
"Where to, Capn'?" Sacha asked, her attention immediately diverted back to Max. She stood at attention, her hand at salute. "The cafeteria? Teacher's lounge? There ain't enough food there to feed a cat for more'n a day."
"May I come with you? I know not very much about fighting zhe Zombie hordesh, but at the very leasht I can be eaten inshtead of such a beauty ash yourshelf." Fes said to Sacha, adding a dramatic bow at the end
"Uh, sure," Sacha said awkwardly, suddenly intensely self-conscious. "Aren't you gay, though?" She asked, no trace of tact in her voice or body language.
"Yesh. I ish ash happy ash you ish beauty, m'lady!" Fes replied, not comprehending the alternate meaning of the word in this country, and the majority of the world for that matter...
"...Right." Sacha hefted the axe in her hands, eager to give it a try. "Well! Enough standing around talking, let's go kick some ass and chew some bubble gum!"
Fes nodded and looked around quickly, spotting a broom hanging on the wall. He snatched it and broke the end off on a desk, twirlling it around expertly as if it were a bo-staff. "I shall follow you to the end of thish earth!" he declared, bowing to Sacha yet again
"OUT THE WAY!" A loud voice called out as Stefan stumbled into the room, leaving his robot behind him as it sparked and fizzed. He ducked away and it exploded, a large bolt flying out and going threw a zombies skull with a loud squelch. The blade buzzed out of it's binder as Stefan rolled. There was a sharp thud and a groan. Stefan looked over to see the saw blade sticking his sleeve to the wall. "Damn..."
Naome came into the room, out of breath. She jumped out of the way of the machine. "You alright?" she asked Stefan.
"Yeah but my best shirt is ruined..." Stefan said, trying to tug his sleeve away from the wall. It wouldn't budge. "YOu alright?" he asked, looking up at her.
"A bit tired, but nothing a full throttle can't cure." she smiled and grabbed the blade, taking it out of the wall and making sure it didn't catch his arm.
"Thanks..." Stefan said, rubbing his forearm as he stood up and hugging her close.
Naome blushed brightly and hugged him back.
Stefan didn't like to admit it, but he felt safer now that he was holding Naome close. He sighed gently, then looked at the others in the room "Ummm... hey."
Naome laughed lightly. She went into her bag and took out a blue demon full throttle. She opened it and took a sip. "Yay energy... and its not flat." she grinned.
"OMG!" Max groaned. "Comeon follow me." She headed directly to the HH Kitchen
Sacha followed her quickly after a bout of startled, embarrassingly high and loud shrieks when Stephan made his appearance. She glowered in shame, close on Max's heels.
Fes ran after Sacha, frightened slightly by Stefan's entrance, but wanting only to get to know such a ravenous beauty as her.
"Nice to see you too..." Stefan said, rolling his eyes and looking down at Naome "We need to get to the main breaker..."
Naome blinked and was in mid sip. "Main breaker??"
"He-Hey! Calm yourself woman!" Aleksandr whimpered out slightly as he was pushed thorugh the door by the frantic and easily excitable Rika. He muttered something to himself and side stepped her hands, letting her rush past him. He looked around and spotted Stefan and another girl, but he really only noticed Stefan. "Hey, Stefan." He called out slightly, walking past a table and over to the slightly taller male.
Star had made her way into the science room after slaying all the zombies in her way and sighed, walking over to the dark corner of the room and sitting down, looking down, in thought.
"What? Is everyone following me?" Stefan asked, waving lazily at Alek as he wondered in. He went over to some shelves and grabbed some chemicals off them quickly, his hands flashing out to grab them "Yeah, we need to try and turn off the electricity to be able to open the gates."
"No," Rika said, grabbing Stephan's shoulder and pulling him back a little, "Alek sample has in plastic....we check now, yes?"
Stefan meeped as he was almost dragged backwards "W-what?" he asked, not able to turn to see where he was going.
"Rika, it's fine. We can examine this stuff later, after Stefan is finished with whatever it is he has to do." Aleksandr jumped up onto a desk and sat down, humming slightly and then refering back to the earlier comment about everyone following Stefan. "Pft, and most people think nerds are unpopular, seems we're proving them wrong, hm Stefan?" He grinned from under the mask.
"Perhaps twitchy is he since he appears in every corner building of his day. Energetic he is." Rika rambled.
"Everyone seems to want me for something" Stefan admitted, finally turning around. "Im guessing she wont leave me alone until I help you, so what do you need me to do?"
"No, no. This can wait. But, I am guessing that you and uh... I don't know her name, sadly, but, you and this female may need some help with whatever it is you are doing." Aleksandr wiped at a bit of puss coming from the long nail gouges on his arm began to look around for some tye of wrap. "Have any more wrap, Stefan?"
"That's Naome.." Stefan said, waving at her "And I sort of crashed into here, I need to restock on some chemicals though." Stefan looked around and pulled out a long roll of cerame wrap "I suggest you carry some with you."
"I'm sorry, I know I should but I didn't figure I would get hurt by those things. Not so early, anyways." Aleksnadr took the wrap and began to bandage his arm up, biting at his bottom lip a bit.
"Euch... I dont like getting near those things.." Stefan shivered. He picked up a vial near Alek and stuffed it into his pocket "Just dont get bitten what ever you do.."
"Sure thing captain braniac." He pat Stefan on the back after he finshed tying the wrap. "I was lucky that one in the cafeteria did not bite down when I shoved my hands in it's mouth before I tore its jaw off.." Aleksandr mused softly,
Stefan stumbled as Alek patted his back. He almost tripped over his own feet "I dont know why... but zombies can turn you into zombies as well if they bite you."
"Interesting. We may be able to figure out why if we check out this slime. Oh, I'm sorry. Didn't mean to make you stumble, man." The Russian said with a small chuckle.
"What slime?" Stefan asked, looking around at Alek. He grabbed a slide from the table "Can I have a look at it?"
"Some slime that I put into a vial before I took a shower. Here." Aleksandr removed the vial from his pocket and took the lid from it before walking over to Stefan and putting a small amount on the slide for him.
Taking the slide to a microscope, Stefan twisted the dial until the slime refocused. If there was one good thing about this school, is that they had a good science equipment. He blinked, then raised his glasses and looked into the microscope again.
"That was its blood, Stefan. Look at how different it is from our blood. Thick, almost like a sticky gel type blood while ours is like water." Aleksandr explained as he tapped at his chin. "And it's discolored, brownish. What do you suppose caused it, you know, other than their being dead and all."
Stefan wiped his eyes for a second then stared back into the lens "It looks like... almost as if someone's managed to put red blood cells into embalming fluid. They've got absolutley no immune system... they're dead, and everything is attacking them. It's as if they're walking bags of diesease."
"Do you think they could spread those diseases through scratches as well as through biting? I mean, don't get me wrong, I am not afraid, but if so then their will be a crap load more of zombies in this place if it could spread through getting scratched by them.Aleksandr rubbed at his temples for a moment before letting out a slight sigh and shaking his head.
"No, it would only be if you exchanged bodily fluids. Like if they bit you." Stefan muttered. He took the plaster off his finger and squeezed a drop of blood onto the slime before covering his finger back up. He stared, and then just went "Ewwwwwww..."
Naome looked over at the stuff Stefan was looking at. She looked back at Alexsandr. "Did you clean those before you wrapped them up...?" she asked, refering to his scratches.
"I see, suppose they are bleeding from their hands when they scratch you. Either way, it doesn't matter." Aleksandr shrugged and looked over to Naome before nodding. "Yeah, Rika and I just got done taking a shower in the locker rooms, like I said just moments ago." He blinked and bent to the side, lowering slightly and pressing Stefan's head out of the way of the microscope lens with his own. He quirked a brow up before moving back and shaking his head again. "These damn zombies.. Disgusting."
"I guess that could contaminate you, but it would have to be a very deep scratch." Stefan said before stepping out the way incase of being knocked over. "Anyway, if you didn't have the embalming stuff inside you you'd drop dead in seconds."
Aleksandr pulled one leg up to his chest, hugging it slightly, and rested his chin on his knee. "I see. Well, that's fascinating and all, but what were you and Naome going to do before we came? Seemed like it was rather important."
"I was gonna re-stock my chemicals... then we needed to knock out the power to be able to open the gates" Stefan said, nodding firmly. He cracked his knuckles and arched his back, his bones clicking loudly "Do you know where the breakers are?"
"Oh, no... I'm sorry, Stefan. Where all did you check so far? Rika and I will help you out." Aleksandr offered. He goot off ot the table and stretched his legs out before sliding the vial of zombie slime back into his pocket.
"No idea..." Stefan admitted "Maybe we should split up and search for it. I've got a feeling it'll be out the way of the students however, so one should go to the teachers lounge and one group should go to the bell tower."
"I'll go, but it's up to you lot." He grabbed his gatorade form the table and openeed it up, taking a drink of it before holding it out for Rika in an offer.
Meanwhile, Rika had left during all the science talk to the other side of the room. She was starting to set the table ends on fire with a burner.
Naome finally finished off her full throttle and threw the empty can in the garbage. She leaned against the table and tapped her foot, not being able to keep still.
"Then it's settled." Aleksandr said with a curt nod. "Alright then, little one. Go with Stefan and Naome, I'll meet up with the three of you after I check the teacher's lounge."
"Hm? Why?" Rika asked, watching the wood burn.
"Because I am going to the teacher's lounge to search for the breakers.. Weren't you listening at all? You have to start listening from now on, okay?" Aleksandr sighed out softly.
Rika threw down the burner and shrugged, "Gomenasai..." she frowned and went behind Stephan, ashamed.
Stefan quickly turned off the gas before the place went up "Ok, see you layer... hang on." He scuttled behind the desk and pulled out a thick lead pipe. "I remember we were shown this when we were covering conductors" he said, handing it to Alek "Don't die."
"No need to be sorry, just.. Yu need to starrt listening." Aleksandr smiled and Rika before turning his attention to the slightly taller male handing him the lead pipe. "Ah, thanks. And don't worry, no zombie can take me down. Listen, in my locker there's a gun, don't ask why." He said firmly. "My locker number is thirteen, three, twenty-three. Take it, and if you need to use it then use it, understood?" He fingered the pipe, running his fingerover a few shallow scratches on it before putting it across the back of his neck and shoulders, his hands hanging over it slightly limp.
Stefan rubbed his hands together "Thanks for the offer but I only fired a gun once before and then the barrel exploded. Im not good with guns." He looked around at Naome and Rika, maybe they knew how to fire a gun.
"Either way, take it." He muttered before waving with one of his hands and walking off out of the room.
Naome blinked. "Don't look at me, I'm not good with guns either...." she said rather quickly.
"This one will." Rika said, sighing at how lame the two were. "Shall thus assembly move?"
Stefan nodded and went back out into the hallway "Glad to see you're not as useless as me.." he sighed to Rika as he went.
Rika scowled at his comment, taking it offensively as she went on into the hh hallways.
Naome followed quickly.
The power vanished, the lights flickered and faded into darkness. Now the only thing lighting the way was the moonlight, and the faint glow of the zombies eyes.
The small white-haired female, Carrie, ran into the room and ran straight to the back of the room where most of the pets were kept along with experimentation pets. When she heard the familiar panting and scurrying about of her puppy, she grinned and hurried over to her cage and opened it up. She grabbed her Pomeranian pup tiber and craddled him in her arms, giggling as he licked and pawed at her chin and neck.
Stefan laughed as he saw her holding the puppy. "Marks for being cute, but I dont think that'll work against these guys" he muttered, reaching out nervously to stroke the puppy.
"Oh get real. Tiber is as good as any full grown muscle dog. Remember, he was used for experimentation once, and I do believe some side effects still stand." Carrie pointed out stroking the pup's back as he excitedly wagged his tail and licked at Stefan's fingers. "Geez, dang teacher. 'Every pet in this room will be used for experimentation at least once. Be prepared!'" She mocked in a feigned accent.
Stefan smiled and tickled under his chin "At least he can walk properly..." he muttered as he looked over at some of the less fortunate experiments. "I'd say he got off rather well considering..."
"One of the lucky ones. I'd say he and two other mammals actually have all function in their bodies, and they're all small too. Must have something to do with their coding and DNA. Anyways, big brother, did you really get shocked by the gates?" Carrie looked up at him in awe, her redish-brown eyes growing slightly in perimeter, a grin coming to her face. When she felt the three pound of dog leave her arms to jump into Stefan's hands she let her arms fall and lock behind her back as she waited for the answer.
"I blacked out for a while but yeah, I got a pretty big shock. I knocked out the power, but the fence must be on a different connection." Stefan said, laughing as he held the dog close against his chest and stroked it slowly "You're all so cute."
"That is soooo cool." She mused out, giggling a bit from her pup's antics. "The only thing uncool about it is that you were hurt. You need to be more careful, big brother. I'll protect you from now on!" Carri hooked her thumb in her brests and grinned a boyish grin up at him, obviously determined to stick to her vow
"By falling on your ass and curling up?" Stefan laughed, stroking Tiber slowly and smiling down at him. He hoped Tiber didn't try and bite the zombies, if he did he might find himself dead in minutes.
"I was cold!" She fumed, placing her hands on her hips and glaring up at him, puckering her face slightly and frowning. "You're so mean to me!" Carrie burts otu, loud evil enough to make the puppy whimper and curl up in Stefan's arms.
Stefan pulled a face and gently stroked Tiber as he curled up "If you say so." He poked Tiber's nose softly with a long finger "What do you think?"
"Tch, boys." Carrie sighed out before turning away and going back over to the cages of animals. "Stefan, I don't want to leave these little guys here for those zombies and without food, but I;m guessing this is the only safe place for them, huh?"
"Yeah, but what can we do? I dont know where can get food though, and we cant even escape ourselves.." Stefan sighed "We'll rescue them after we've saved outselves."
"Yeah, that is the logical thing to do. But you know, even though it may sound heartless, I think we can use the near death experiment animals as bait or a diversion for the zombies... Don't you?" Carrie asked, looking back at Stefan over her shoulder.
"I guess we could do that.." Stefan said, looking at a forlorn looking pigeon. "But I guess we should put the ill ones out of their misery."
"Yeah. Wait... No.. It seems to me that zombies are attracted to hot or warm blood. If we were to kill the ill ones then that would just get them that much closer to finding us. We could use the ill ones, as well, to ward them off a bit.. Geez, I sound like a crude old hag talking about crap like this." Carri sighed and covered her eyes, rubbing at her temples with her fingers.
Stefan kissed her forehead softly, hugging her one handed "I could always rig something to blow. That'll take out the animals and drive the zombies towards here, but we dont ahve to be near." He pulled a face "Gah, talking like this leaves a horrible taste in my mouth."
"We're going to save the animals that have a chance though." Carrie said looking up at Stefan, a small frown on her face. "Even those who's limbs do not function right, we're going to save them because I'm sure with time they will be treated or outgrow the experiments.."
Naome was silent. She personally didn't like the idea of blowing up the animals either.
Stefan sighed and rubbed his eyes "Yes. We'll try and save the animals. Even the ones that cant move properly right now."
Grinning and wrapping her arms around Stefan's slender waist, Carrie nuzzled her cheek into his chest softly. "Yay, thank you big brother." Tiber barks, rather squeaked, and wagged his fluffy tail happiky and pawed at Stefan's arm softly.
Stefan lay Tiber on her shoulders and patted Carrie lightly "Anything for my little sissy." He laughed gently despite himself, Carrie always made him feel better. Not like Naome made him feel, but she still made him feel better.
Naome smiled softly at Tiber. She walked over to the different cages and looked in. She really did like animals, but her mom was allergic to fur, so she could never have any.
"Well," Carrie says "Tiber needs food. He has not been fed today. Has the cafeteria been taken over by zombies yet?" She asked curiously, pulling away from the tall male and taking Tiber from her head.
"Im pretty sure that a lot of the places are over run, you've just got to keep moving and take any thing dangerous out before it gets you" Stefan sighed, rubbing his head "Or if worst comes to the worst, I take a sniff of rubbing alcohol and go mental in there."
"Oh, dog food!" Carrie pounded the side of her fisted hand into the palm of her other and turned away from Stefan, quickly running off to the cabnits and searching through them until she came upon some puppy chow she had brought in just a week before for her pup. "Tiber! I've got you some food!" She squealed out whilst unrolling the bag of food. She dumped some onto the science table and setting Tiber down. She giggled a bit when he began to chow down into the food.
Shaking his head at how strange she could act sometimes, and realising that was a pot calling the kettle black situation, Stefan smiled gently aat Naome. "She loves that puppy. Dont know what she'd do without it."
Naome smiled softly. "I can tell..." she chuckled softly. She looked out at the window and sighed softly. "My mom is probably worried sick... she sent me a voice mail on my phone but I can't get it while I'm on school grounds..."
"Haha. I hardly think school rules apply here right now chick." Carrie said rather rudely as she flicked a piece of kibble across the table. "And if they did I hardly think zombies will enforce the rules. Tch."
She laughed lightly. "Oh, I know that... but I have no service when I'm on school grounds..." Naome laughed lightly, not even tking note of the rudeness.
"You have a ca-ra-py plan then." She snorted before walked to the teacher's desk and pulling open the side drawer. "Use hers. She's more than likely zombie chow now anyways." Carrie pointed out after grabbing the teacher's purse and digging her cell phone out of it. She tossed it to Naome as she made her way back to the puppy.
Naome blinked. "Oh... kay?" she said, wondering what happened to the person that was all just happy and smiles, and not so cold. Naome was getting the impression that Carrie didn't like her too much, but oh well. She dialed in her house phone and pressed 'send' and waited.
"Carrie doesn't like the science teacher" Stefan explained "She experimented too much on the animals." He grimaced "The teachers have all dissapeared."
Naome nodded and sighed when the answering machine came on. "Of course... probably out with her new boyfriend..."
"I dunno" Stefan said, eyeing up the classroom wearilly as if afraid the teachers would pop out of no where "But ALL of them dissapearing RIGHT before the zombie attack? Sounds a bit fishy..."
