[Our Lady of Sorrow]: cool! i sing although i cant read music. he helps me with that when i get stuck though. hes sooo good. its really fun just watching someone play the piano when you know the emotion is real and they are not just pretending to be into it. you can tell. sometimes the music seems a little detached instead of part of the person. *sighs*

[Fireblade K'Chona]: Sometimes I deliberately play detachedly, though. Sometimes that's how a piece needs to be played...course, I also like huge, crashing chords and long passages that need real passion behind them.

[Fireblade K'Chona]: ...no, it's just that Misty Lackey (one of my fave authors) was heavily inspired by Marion Zimmer Bradley, and so I figured I'd like her books, so I started with the best-known one. Plus, I love King Arthur and Camelot...I've read all the picture books (long time ago) Gerald Morris's The Savage Damsel and the Dwarf...lots of them.

[Anna-Rebecca]: no, I live in aberdeenshire (northeast). loch ness isn't that impressive. there are nicer lochs. I'm quite a fan of loch tay

[Cati Stormweaver]: there was a wicca store that was in the mall that shut down today! me so sad it was the only place where they sold the stuff i liked, now their propably gonna put a prepi clothes store there.. and now the only place i can get that stuff is 2 hours away in Indy, and we usally dont go there!!!!

[Fé]: My favourite's my art teacher Mr Moore, otherwise known as Mr Maniac. It's a long story.. But he's awesome. He's a snowboarder dude, and has a load of stuff like snowboarding posters on his walls, and even has a huge snowboarder painted on the far one. ^^ He's really 'mazin'. He's got hair down to his waist! He's in favour of inspiration which is more than I can say for any other art teacher I've had.

[Davorah]: yar! Look at Socrates (Plato, his best student, questioned his sanity) , Aristotle, Galileo, and Albert Einstein

[Davorah]: Well then it must have been Socrates to question his own sanity...heh very confusing...But I love philosophy especially the greek philosophers

[Nimune]: ok, Nere, Aristotle will be able to help you as well as I can, and probably more. What Tolkien did was, admittedly pure genius, but you must consider that the exact same thing had allready been going on for many years beforehand, when sci-fi and fantasy were not considered separate. 

[Nere]: erm...wasn't sci fi and fantasy literature baned for a while there...at least in England...i'm sure I read that somewhere....

[Davorah]: not to my knowledge...I've been burning my brain out trying to learn to draw more realistically...

[Davorah]: yar! I have a nice set of blenders...but I didnt mean more 3-d like or shading...I meant less elves and faeries and more "real" stuffs I just did a drawing of a sea horse yesterday, it took me an hour and today a butterfly it took longer than it should have but, *shrugs* you know...

[Nimune]: try to start with models, get a book on nature and survival. start by drawing the pictures in there. when you get used to the shapes of everything, move on to some freehand work. When you are drawing from the book, keep in mind what part of the animal you are drawing. oddly enough, books on animal anatomy help a lot, and so do Zoobooks, if you know what they are.

[Davorah]: Oh yeah I do know what those are! I was using references online...but I'm sure I have a few nature books lying around the house! I'm gonna go look. I'll be back later!

[Lewis of Llynn]: but Delandreing, the ancient Celtic bards were the keepers of the stories and history. They were considered one of the three types of Druids. (i took a class on celtic mythology).
