Your Name: [shadow of darkness]

Real Name: Gordon Pask

Spartan Number: (Keep it above 300) 372

Specialization(s) (Sniper, Explosives, etc): Close Quarters Combat Specialist

Armor type: HAYABUSA Powered Assault Armor Mark II

Description: The Hayabusa is a powered battle armor system, similar to the MJOLNIR Armor, except stemming from Project HAYABUSA as opposed to Project MJOLNIR. It was developed by RKD, an Earth-based "think tank" in the year 2536, 6 years before the Mark V entered production. It was presented to the UNSC Ordnance Committee as an answer to the self-contained powered armor problem. Advanced materials are used in the production of the Hayabusa armor reducing the weight of the current generation armor by nearly a third (at that time).

While HAYABUSA had different goals than its rival project, MJOLNIR, both programs resulted in powerful battle armor that boasted energy shields. The HAYABUSA project was intended to develop self-contained power armor, and the project eventually culminated in the development of the Hayabusa Powered Assault Armor, which was developed by Facility RKD on Earth in the year 2536 and was accepted by the UNSC Ordnance Committee the same year.

The Hayabusa Armor is aesthetically Japanese in design. The Armor was designed after Ancient Samurai and Ninja designs. It includes spiked shoulder pauldrons (referred to as s'ode). The purpose of the Japanese aesthetics was to instill fear in enemy soldiers while compensating for the armor's lack of defensive strength by angling the pieces to reduce ballistics penetration and providing a sleek, aerodynamic figure. The Hayabusa Armor's helmet was designed with a defensive and ultraviolet protective visor. It, like on all UNSC helmets, is the weakest point in the helmetpiece itself. The small visor is more difficult to accurately penetrate thus defending the wearer. The small visor also provides for better camouflage.

The Mark II version of the HAYABUSA Powered Assault Armor is much like it's predecessor in the simple means of design. However, it's defensive capabilities have been heightened significantly. To make up for the Armor's natural lack of defense strength, the Mark II was equipped with an increased energy shield, granting the wearer a slightly higher shield strength.

Helmet type: HAYABUSA Powered Assault Armor Mark II

Description: The helmet features 7 angular spikes, or spokes, one to each side and the face plate is fused into a single piece and contour. The spikes are another 7 reference. The top rear guard of the helmet is pointed, revealing the protruding spike. The bottom rear, around the neck forms a sort of neck guard, like that of a samurai helmet. Unlike the original versions of the HAYABUSA armor where, the 7 spikes were always silver-white regardless of armor color; he painted over the white with bright red-orange paint. Clips can be seen on the side of the helmet.

Armor Variance (Battle damage, war paint, etc.): Unlike most Spartans who seem to want to fade into the background, what with their green or black colored armors, he prefers to be the last thing that the enemy will see before they die, and should they survive, he wants to be remembered. The HAYABUSA armor comes standard with white trim, so already it stands out, but to make it even moreso, he opted to color the helmet and shoulder pads a bright reddish orange, while the rest of the armor a piercing blaze orange. To top it all off, he plastered the simple flaming ninja head onto his armor. It seemed to fit him perfectly. He's a Close Quarters Combat Specialist, with a flame thrower. So he figured, what better than a flaming ninja? He takes the best care he can of his armor, but wielding a flamethrower is a dangerous job and there are some time when you just can't help but get a little burned by your own flame, or from other things you caught on fire with it. There are many scorch marks along his armor, some big, some small, some deeper than they look.

Weapons (Only two; Human): The M7057/Defoliant Projector (more commonly known as the M7057 Flamethrower), M90 Close Assault Weapon System

Description: The M7057/DP, is a standard chemical flamethrower, which projects and ignites a stream of a volatile, semi-liquid fuel. It has a built in failsafe system that stops the weapon firing when it reaches a certain temperature. If the weapon could be fired while overheated, it would melt or explode, and the heat and the flames would harm the user.
Damage Per Hit: High
Magazine Size: 100 fuel units
Maximum Ammunition: 7 Canisters or 700 fuel units
Fire Mode: Continuous fire (3 second burst)
Ammunition Type: Pyrosene-V
Rate of Fire: Continuous fire
Accuracy: High (close range), Low (mid range)
Range: Short 13.4 meters (44 feet)

The M90 Close Assault Weapon System (abbreviated M90 CAWS), is the United Nations Space Command's primary shotgun and is one of the most lethal infantry weapons used by front line forces. The M90 Shotgun is a pump-action magazine-fed, dual tubular non-detachable type weapon. The Weapon System Technologies DTM series shotgun is the most common shotgun employed by both UNSC Special Forces, law enforcement agencies, and sportsmen alike. The M90 has been in service for over 27 years and its design has changed very little, the M90’s immense stopping power, ease of use, and reduced capacity for puncturing the hulls of spacecraft over many other UNSC weapon systems with standard 0000 ammunition are greatly appreciated. The M90 is often employed in urban conditions, where the tight spaces are conducive to the shotgun's wide spray for defensive purposes and CQB combat. The military issued DTM series comes standard with an adjustable stock and pistol grip - although there are different models like the WST DTM/LE model which has a solid stock and no pistol grip. The DTM series of shotguns are available in 20 Gauge, 10 Gauge for the civilian market; the 8 gauge is only sold to law enforcement and military agencies.

Equipment: He's not very big on equipment, having no set preference. Though he does tend to carry a Bubble Shield and Flares from time to time.

Basic Info: Gordon had always been the kind of boy who craved attention, but simply wasn't given it. As a child he had always faded into the background and was picked last for all the games. When the recruiters came around for the Spartan-II program, he begged his parents for the chance. Oddly enough, it didn't really take all that much begging for them to cave in and take their son for the test. Clearly, he passed it and began his long and hard life as a Spartan-II.

For him, training was simply another way for him to get attention. And as time went by, he began to get the attention he so badly craved. As he grew in strength and speed, he began to rise in his class until he was finally at that moment he had always wanted. No longer was he forgotten in the background, no longer was he picked last. He was picked first. He stood out amongst the others as he strove for higher goals.

Weapons training proved to be a simple thing for him, as he had begun to take to just about any weapon that was laid in his hands. He was a natural. But when they handed him the M7057/Defoliant Projector, it was like an artist being handed a paintbrush. The things he could do with the flamethrower were enough to make you stand in awe as much as fall over and retch like there was no tomorrow. It was both beautiful and revolting, the ways he could wield that weapon. Things only got worse when he seemed to fall in love with the M90 Close Assault Weapon System. The shotgun was one of the most basic of weapon for UNSC troops to use. He took to it like a bad habit. From that day on he would only use those two weapons during training simulations, and each time they carried him to the top of the class.

Upon completion of training, the RKD approached him with an opportunity to test out their newest variance of the HAYABUSA Powered Assault Armor. When he saw the armor, he simply had to have it. It was a thing of pure beauty, of course like most of the Spartan Armors it came in your basic green color, which he couldn't have if he was to continue to grab attention. He decided that it would be best if it was a bright thing to remember whenever someone saw his armor and immediately set to work on painting it red-orange and blaze orange.

Since his armor was samurai in design, he thought it only natural if he carried a sword as well. Though that was a hard thing to find, for sure. He didn't want some energy sword prototype that the pencil pushers seemed to fancy. He wanted an honest-to-god sword strapped to his back. He was able to find a guy who would craft one for him during one of his shore leaves.(is that the right terminology? I'm thinking like time off) He had it crafted of titanium, with a blade sharp enough to cut through an Elite's armor without much hesitation. He knew the sharper it got, the pricer it would be, so he didn't want to push his limits. Being such a work of art as it was, he truly hates to use it, but will should his ammo ever run out.
