Kingdom of Blades
You walk outside to find a beautiful garden of many flowers. Most of them thought to be extinct.A fountain in the middle of the garden you think are in heaven of the sweet fragrance in the air.Not too far is
Ski's sanctuary
Sitting on the marble stones of the great fountain was the small, young dragon hybrid, Kovu. His colorless hair was reflecting the sun's still light, and the cool air rustled it a bit. In his lap sat his little, white tom cat that never ceased to follow him. Previously, the animal was swatting at the puff of fur on little Kovu's flicking tail.
A small, dog-like dragon came silently waddling up through the grass to get a drink from the fountain to which Kovu was sitting. He caught a faint whiff of the small feline held in the hybrid's lap, so of course he turned his full body towards Kovu and trotted, slow and timidly towards the two. When he was a good distance from both of them he sat down, tilted his head to the right, let one ear droop low with the other perked, and gently flicked his tail back and fourth through the semi-long green blades.
Kovu blinked at the creature, and his lazy cat meowed deeply. "Why...hello there." He leaned forward, the scales across his body shimmering slightly in the frozen light of this semi-chilly day. What was a creature such as this doing out here alone? Was it summoned by Chelsay, also?
The beast's tail wagged a bit faster now as he lifted one aqua blue-green paw and placed it against the ground, pawing the grass up and doing the same with the other paw. He gave out a low murr, sort of a playful growl, and straightened his neck as he stared at the tommy in Kovu's lap.
The tom cat seemed to almost roll it's eyes as he jumped from the dragon boy's lap and landed before the creature. While purring, the cat rubbed up against the other's side as cats do. Kovu chuckled, making his scales glint even more from the movement. "How wonderful, he likes you already."
He gave a small snort and buried his scaly muzzle into the cat's side, sniffing for a few moments then pulling back. His paws raked the ground gently once more before pulling away and jumping back, lowering his upper body as if ready to pounce on the small creature. His tail wagged excitedly up in the air before he pushed off with his hind legs and landed a few centimeters before the cat and gave off a sort of chirp.. barkish sound.
Acting unimpressed, as cats usually do, the tom nearly lifted it's tail along with it's nose. He pawed around in circles before jumping back up to his previous sitting spot, Kovu's lap. "Don't worry, little guy, this Tom is just too lazy to play, but he does like you."
This dragon wagged his tail a few more times before giving a toothy grin and rushing at Kovu. He lowered his head and barreled into the lad's stomach, just missing the tommy, and tackled Kovu into the grassy ground. He stood up over Kovu and began to run his tongue across his face hyperly, wagging his tail happily and smiling.
Kovu laughed while trying desperately to pull himself away from the doggish creature. His tom cat had dashed off somewhere and now sat licking himself by the fountain. "You're quite a friendly creature, aren't you." Again Kovu chuckled and sat up, petting the dragon doggy. "My name is Kovu." He chimed lowly, not sure if the creature understood him or not.
Marcus sat in the shade of several trees while wearing a large overcoat to stay out of the sun. He had a book in his hand which looked very worn out.
He seemed to gasp at the speaking before letting it out in a, "Hiii! I'm Adrinta!" He sat down next to Kovu and grinned again. "Nice to meet you.. and your tommy.. He's old and so unfriendly, lazy more like it.."
"You speak." Kovu's eyes showed his surprise and excitement. He rolled onto his hands and knees and tilted his head in awe. "Wonderful!"
"Of course I can! I can speak a lot of languages, this is just one of them. I speak cat, dog, bird, dragon, human, hyena, etc.!" Adrinta sat down and tilted his head to the side again. "Can't your cat speak human?"
"Well, he's certainly never spoken to me." Kovu smiled and reached his hand out to scratch behind the animal's ears. "You are quite talented, few can speak to so many."
"I guess, dragons are just the smartest creatures you can come by!" Adrinta exclaimed happily, kicking his hind leg from the scratching. "I'm so glad Somebody is finally here to play with, I've been so lonely these past years."
Kovu scooted in a bit closer and whispered lowly. "Of coarse they are, but 'shhhh' let's not let the others here that." He chuckled and looked about the garden, not really seeing any others that might have been there since he was sitting in the grass.
"Aww, we should scream it loud and proud from the mountain tops, Kovu! We have the beauty, strength, powers, flight, claws, and even the necks!" Adrinta pranced around the sitting Kovu while he spoke, wagging his whip of a tail.
Kovu bit his lip, and his face fell a bit. Then, timidly, he mumbled quietly. "I don't realy have much of that." His shoulder's slumped a bit, causing the scales to sparkle again with the cool sunlight.
Adrinta stopped prancing long enough to take a quick glance at Kovu, then grinned and pranced some more. "You may not have beauty, but you're awfully handsome and even a bit cute. You have charming little wings, a cute ball of fluff on your tail, amazing scales by the way, and you have speed. The smaller an object, the faster it is."
"I can't-I can't fly...." The dragon lad's face was lowered to the grass that he was sitting in, and his pinkish tinted eyes wouldn't raise. He was quite sensitive when it came to what he couldn't do. He always felt that he had failed as a dragon...faile
d his father.
"Aww, don't feel bad Kovu. I don't have wings, not even fins.. But you have wings, and even if you can't fly, you still have some nice wings. I can't fly either, and even if the element I am in is wind, I still can't sprout wings and fly.. It sucks not having wings.. Makes me feel like less of a dragon cause I don't have them, but then I remember that not all dragon's have wings or can fly cause of their species and genes." He pushed his side up against Kovu's side, murring quietly. "Please don't feel bad."
Kovu let his lips turn up slightly. "Thanks, I guess it isn't good to pity one's self. I just wish I was more like my father." He petted the top of the animals head. "You've helped my self esteem." He chimed with a chuckle, his good coming back quite quickly.
"Yay!" As Adrinta wagged his tail his hips swung from side to side as well. He pushed himself up onto his hind flanks and dropped his upper body onto Kovu lightly, hugging him with paws and licking his face again.
Kovu laughed and ruffled the animal's fur. "You're going to have to stop that." He laughed out. "You'll wind up tackling me to death." His tail flicked up more and more, for he was starting to become more playful himself. He let out a quiet growl through his laughs.
Adrinta growled and ran around to Kovu's tail, tackling it and trying to bite th fluff with his small teeth. "I will get ahold of fluff!" He cried out, still biting at strands of the tail.
Pulling his tail out of the way, Kovu dangled it above the animal's head teasingly. "My fluff is my own."
Barra looked from up on a branch down upon the ongoing scene with a grin.
Marcus lowered his book and watched the ongoing scene. He cocked an eyebrow and shook his head before closing his book and stuck it in his coat pocket.
landing silently on the roof of the Kitchen Heanto took to the shadows and slowly scaled the wall moving from shadow to shadow. mortals can behave very weird he reminded himself as he knelt down and watched the group infront of him.
Barra revealed himself from the cover of the trees then sat down in plane sight.
Adrinta was about ready to attack the tail again when he caught all the scents of the people who just came out of nowhere. He blinked and looked around quickly, loosing his footing on the ground and falling over with a low thud. He began to pant, blinking and still looking around like a mad dragon.
Barra smiled and waved. "Hello noble creature, name is Barra."
Adrinta stood up and looked square at the Barra character, his muzzle wide open as he pant with his tongue hanging out to the left of his jaw. "People!" He stood up and ran at Barra, tail wagging and all. He dove at the character and began to lick his face happily.
Barra chuckled and halfheartedly tried to fend Adrinta off.
Adrinta wiggled a little from the weak struggle, but nonetheless just kept licking Barras' face. "It's so good to see people again!" He exclaimed once he was done licking the skin of the humanoid. He was shaking with excitement, so happy he did not have to spend all day doing nothing but talking to the bugs and stray animals, now he had people to actually talk to and to use to help his mind catch up on what happened in the word whilst isolated within the castle walls.
Marcus stood up and walked over to Heanto and stood behind him. "So, uh... what's with the secrecy?"
Barra chuckled then got back up and petted Adrinta behind the ears. "I can tell, has it truly been that long since someone has been here noble one?"
Nodding and perking his ears, Adrinta sat down and stared up at Barra. "Yes, when I was ten I escaped from a war between my clan and another clan fighting for territory purposes. I found this place, thought there'd be people or animals here to have good company, but there was nobody... I was very lonely."
Barra nodded. "I can understand that, I am sorry to hear that you've had such a harsh life." He then sat and played with an arrow.
"It's not your fault." Adrinta said warmly before running one of his antlers and the side of his face against Barra's bicep. He turned and began to leap like a bunny back to Kovu.
Barra nodded and smiled a little saddened. "Still, I do feel sorry for you noble one.. But am glad you've found some company again.." He mumbled to himself before placing the arrow on his bow and strung the bow, aiming upwards at nothing in particular then lowering the bow and placing the arrow back in with the rest.
While his little friend had been off socializing with a new person, Kovu had climbed back upon the fountain side and sat with his fingers trailing in the water. He loved watching the little animal because he was reminded of all that a dragon was suppose to be.
Adrinta hopped his way back over to Kovu, gently laying his head onto the dragon lad's lap. "Where'd your Tommy go?"
Barra strapped his bow over his back then wandered over to where Adrinta was.
Adrinta looked back when he heard the rustling of feet in the soft grass blades layered over the soft soil. His tail wagged widely as he noticed Barra.
Barra grinned and waved once before sitting down by the closest tree to Adrinta.
Adrinat was ready to step towards Barra, but then stopped and looked at Kovu, then to Barra and back to Kovu. He gave a low whimper and just decided to jump into the fountain. He splashed water from the fountain with his tail to try and hit Barra near the tree.
Barra jumped out of the way for a big splash of waters with a chuckle. "Ack! What was that for now?"
"Play, play, play!" Adrinta exclaimed hyperly, swimming around in the water like he was a sea serpent. Every now and again splashing at Barra with his whip like tail.
Barra laughed fullheartedly and jumped in as well spashing on Adrinta with a chuckle. "Hah! Got ya."
The swimming dragon meeped and began to swim a bit faster, circling around Barra. He let his head ram against his hip bone lightly and splashed him with his tail, grinning. "Nu, I got you!"
"Ack! Oh I am going to get you for that!" He says with a laugh and turns to splash the dragon with water.
Adrinta snickered and kicked his hind legs and wagged his tail quickly in the water. He dove down and began to circle around Barra's legs before swimming right through them.
Barra blinked confused first then laughed and went under water as well and started swimming after Adrinta.
"You can't catch an element dragon!" Adrinta said deviously, giving Barra a toothy grin and speeding off to the edge of the fountain. He turned and waited for Barra, wagging his tail and grinning still. "But I won't go full speed!"
Barra chuckled. "Well I am glad you'll give me that advantage."
"I'm a nice dragon, I always give people a fighting chance against me!" Adrinta brought one of his paws up to his muzzle and began to lick it while waiting for Barra.
Barra chuckled and swam after Adrinta.
hearing Marcus Heanto jumped up and drew a dagger from his long coat. "last time i met mortals was a thousand years ago so i am no too sure of what to do." seeing marcus he let the dagger vanish.
"Well, you need to learn to throw caution into the wind and ease up or else you'll be very suspicious and only draw attention to yourself, unless that's your goal then keep at it." Marcus said with a laugh.
"well i guess you are right my friend, i am heanto by the way"
Heanto bowed slightly and started to move into the garden.
Kovu sat with his legs crossed over each other on the edge of the fountain. Now, his whole body was splayed with droplets of water, and he was slowly growing more nervous with the number of people in the garden. He hadn't noticed them before, but now that he had time to himself, he realized they were definitely there.
"My name is Marcus." Marcus said with the same nod to Heanto.
"marcus, well its a pleasure to meet you." heanto said with a slight smile and moved out of the shadows to the open trying not to touch any of his six swords.
Adrinta moved out of the way of Barra and hurried his way over to Kovu, popping up out of the water quietly, grabbing the cloth around his hips, his pants, and pulled him in.
Barra chuckled and pointed to the now drenched Kovu. "Now you're wet too!" He said in a slightly childish-like voice.
"I've never seen anyone carry six swords before? You must have quite a unique fighting style." Marcus said observing each sword.
Kovu shivered once and then cupped his hands in the water. With a quick movement, he sent water all over the little animal and elf. "I'm not the only one." He chuckled lightly, trying hard to make himself a bit more open and less nervous.
Adrinta giggled and swam around happily, bumping into the both of the humanoid creatures on purpose. "Yay! Play, play, play!"
Kovu snorted a bit before grabbing the doggy creature around the belly and pulling him into the water. "You're such a silly creature."
Adrinta squirmed and wiggled helplessly in Kovu's grasp. "Nuu! I dun wanna be eaten by the scary dragonsaurous-rex!" He teased, smacking his tail against Kovu's black skin semi-softly.
"Eat you? Oh no no no no....That's not what I'm gonna do." Kovu playfully growled out while struggling to hold on.
"The you're gonna feed me to the gizzards!" He stopped squirming and grinned up at Kovu, turning his head and nipping at the black hands grabbing the creamy-white skin of his underbelly.
"No, I would have to keep you for myself. The gizzards could not have you." Kovu chuckled while letting go, lest his fingers get nipped. He shivered again and pulled himself out of the water. His bones were feeling a bit chilled.
"Ah.. I see.. you don't share your food with starving gizzards..." Adrinta said jokingly as he turned to face Barra. "Barra-chan, let's get out now.. I'm kind of worn out.. guess it's what I get for not running around as much as I did today." He turned and pulled himself out ad over the side of the fountain, shaking himself off of the water and running off into a huddle of trees in the distance. He came back out a few moments later with a rather large cloth hanging from his mouth, something he used as a blanket to keep himself warm on chilly December and fall nights. It wavered behind him as he ran hitting the ground when he stopped before Kovu. "Here you go.."
"what in the name of the white mother is going on here?" asked Heanto a little surprised.
Barra grinned and nodded then got up as well and leaped up towards the nearest tree and grabbed onto a branch and swung around to end up sitting on that branch with a difficult maneuver.
"hay up there, why exactly are you up there?" Heanto asked half laughing up at Barra
Kovu accepted the blanket with a small, shy grin that usually spread across his face. "Thanks." Using the blanket, he began to wrap himself up and then patted his lap as an invitation to the animal. "Aren't you cold, also?"
"I have no idea... to be honest it's scaring me a little." Marcus said with a laugh to Heanto.
"No.." Adrinta said simply, dragging it out slightly in a cute little voice. He pushed his upper body into the air, placing his front paws on Kovu's lap and wagging his tail once more. "Only during the winter."
"Alright, if you say so." The dragon lad finished wrapping himself up with the blanket and then placed his hands behind the creatures ears where he scratched. "Are you done playing now?"
"I'm feeling a bit, out-of-breath..ish.." Adrinta gave a low yawn and sat down, still keeping his front paws on Kovu's lap. "I think you're Tommy's gonna get jealous that I stole his spot.."
Barra grinned. "Me? Cause I like it here, I am an elven after all."
"i see, well i guess i haven't been among elves for a very long time. i am Heanto of house Almdil-Siona, i am not sure if we are still alive for i have been walking the world for thousands of years. who may i ask are you." heanto asked pleasantly scratching his slightly red pointed ears.
"That cat isn't the one to get jealous. He just goes and comes. I'm sure he quite likes you, anyhow." Kovu said lightly as he continued to pet the doggish dragon creature. His fingers slipped behind it's ears again for another scratch.
His foot banged against the ground from the scratching. "Ah, so he's a freeloader?"
Barra grinned. "I can almost assure you that you haven't been amongst this kind of elves... First of all then there isn't many of us and second we don't usually show ourselves as much as I have... But then again I came here because the goddess called upon me."
Kovu had to lift his head slightly to let out his laugh. "Yes, you would definately call that animal a freeloader."
Adrinta giggled, peering over at the cat grinning a bit. "I can tell it's gonna be fun from now on.. More people to talk to, more people to play with, maybe even more animals."
"I'm glad you're positive about this place." Kovu's laugh had died down into his neutral expression as he thought about why he was here.
"So, your papa... Is he special to you..." The dragon asked gently, placing his head onto Kovu's lap after removing his paws.
"He's the most special person in the world to me...other than my mother." Kovu smiled as his face took on a nastalgic look. He continued rubbing the animal's ears. "You know, I haven't been told your name yet."
"I am, Adrinta of the Eastern Elemental Dragon clan. The second most powerful clan in all of the Elementals, but I am by far the brightest of them all." He boosted, proud of his clan hierarchy and intellegence.
"My name is Marcus and I'm perhaps the rarest person you'll ever meet." Marcus with a short bow to Heanto.
"That is quite impressive, little Adrinta." Kovu chimed with a spark of maneristic excitement. "And you are quite right on the bright part. I don't believe any other dragon could be any where near as bright as you."
"Aww!" Adrinta wiggled and went off in his own little world, placing his paws on his muzzle and cooing.
"wow... not meny? has it been so long? its been almost two millania now... i am... i am sorry, anol-thu'las esantio sigona." Heanto bowed his head sadly and leaned on the tree to support himself. "well the white mother be praised that i have met you, i was about to go home soon."
Marcus gave a short laugh. "I'm rare because I'm sort of split into thirds basically. I'm about 1/3 human, 1/3 werewold, and 1/3 vampire. But I think I'm leaning more towards the human side... at least I think."
"wow, the word has changed... i was sent away because i was not a purey anylonger, the white mother gave me her blessing and i was sent away..." for a second Heanto's features flickered to be of a red dragon's and then changed back. "so what are we doing here anyway? i just came because i felt tierd and needed to rest for a while" he said plus there is a dragon here.
"Well, this was my home when I was only human so I guess I figured I'd stay since I'm not that different from everyone else... sort of..." Marcus said with a shrug.
Barra shrugged. "I was summoned by the goddess like said."
Melody walked down the path to the fountain purring as the sweet smells filled her nose.
Sitting on the fountain's edge, Kovu found that he had now dried completely and was no longer shivering from the chilly air. He continued petting the now sleeping Adrinta before picking the creature up and setting him amid the springy grass that lined the fountain.
melody smiled at the sight of the young dragon asleep by the fountain. she paused a moment to watch him sleep before turning to get a drink.
Barra leaped down on the ground then turned to bow deeply before Melody. "Hello m'lady, an honor meeting you."
"Im thirsty" Heanto said befor conjuring up a jug of meed. "anyone else want some meed?"
"I like that idea. I haven't had anything today." Marcus said while adjusting his cloak.
drinking deeply from his jug Heanto conjured up another jug and let it float to marcus. "here you go brother."
Melody licked the water from her whiskers and returned Barra's bow. "the pleaser is mine. i'm Melody, familiar to Allen of the first dragons of war clan." she smiled. "and whom do i have the pleaser of speaking"
Barra smiled. "Name is Barra, elven kin of a rare breed."
"That's a neat trick. Where'd you learn to do that?" Marcus asked taking the jug out of the air.
A dog appeared by Barra's side and barked cheerfully and waggled it's tail while looking at Melody. "Oh yeah, this is Daegorn, my traveling companion."
"i think it was in Bar-dligado, magic school... i hid behind a closet because i had no money... good ten years i did that..." Heanto said between gulps of meed.
Watching the group of people, Kovu became quite uncomfortable. Of coarse, he was intrigued by them, but also quite iffy. Letting his tail scuff across the ground in a slight wave, the dragon lad inched away closer to the castle. Cold light glinted off his scales.
Marcus looked perplexed. "10 years? Haha that's quite impressive to learn that much while hiding."
Melody chuckled."hello to you as well Daegorn." her ears turned toward the city and her smile grew. she bowed to Barra. "forgive me, but i must go meet allen." she headed toward the castle main entance giving Kovu a friendly smile as she passed.
"well not really." Heanto laughted "I was brought up by a rouge... ha ha ha."
Barra nodded then bowed in farewell then turned to look at the people gathered in the garden. "This sure is a strange flock.."
Marcus laughed. "That must've been some childhood."
Heanto looked at barra and smiled faintly. "Aye it was, but its like a different life time now." he said to Marcus without looking away.
Marcus looked at Barra as well. "Look who's talking." Marcus laughed his retort.
Barra chuckled softly. "Hehe, no offense meant, purely an observation."
Marcus took another drink of his meed. "None taken!"
Barra grinned. "Actually more meant that this probably will mean quite some amusement."
Marcus gave a wide grin. "Well o' course! There wouldn't be many here if it was gonna be borin'."
Barra shrugged. "I wouldn't know, I would be here anyway, since the goddess called."
Draven walks in and sets down his case "I wasn't expecting so many to be here, then again I guess I am a bit late." he chuckles
Barra grinned. "That may be, but you're just as welcome anyway."
"I know i am weird but are you?" Heanto asked quizkly looking over the gardens. "wait what goddess?"
Barra grinned. "Most probably, well the goddess."
Roy walked and stopped."Alright everyone listen up you little shrimps!"He yelled getting their attention."As you all know i'm your general and your commandor until her highness returns...that's if..."He said and sighed.
Marcus cocked an eyebrow. "That's if what?" he asked in a curious tone.
"She returns...must be a really important mission to her that she took everyone and left me in charge of you all.."Roy said and snorted."Even though I hate baby sitting..."
"Is that what you call it? 'Baby sitting'? Well, you clearly don't seem up to the task now do you?" Marcus criticized.
"If I wasn't up for it then her highness wouldn't of left me in charge.."Roy said and snarled showing his demon fangs."Where are my manners the names Roy..."If you need me i'll be in the war room and if you're hungry head to the dinnign halls Marie can fix you something up..."He said.
Seemingly unfazed by the General, Draven says "Ah yes, food. I will gladly partake of that." He picks up his case and heads toward the Castle dinning Halls
"food... noe thats a thought, i havent had none conjured food in over a month now... marcus you comming?" Heanto said as he stood up and headed towards the Castle dinning Halls
Roy yawned and headed back to the war room where his little friend was.
Marcus got up and stretched then headed to Castle dinning Halls.
Barra blinked. "Hmm... Here suddenly became quite deserted... Oh well, hmm.. Actually I'm a bit hungry myself too... Ah well, just to follow the flock I suppose." He said to himself with a chuckle before walking after everyone to the Castle Dinning Halls.
